‘Summer Of ’59’ was a b-side of Paul McCartney’s ‘Jenny Wren’ single.
It was recorded at London’s AIR Studios in April 2005, during the Chaos And Creation In The Backyard sessions.
McCartney performed all the instruments: his Höfner violin bass, Martin J18 acoustic guitar, and Epiphone Casino electric guitar.
The ‘Jenny Wren’ single was released in the United Kingdom on 21 November 2005 as the second single from Chaos And Creation In The Backyard. It peaked at number 22 on the official chart.
‘Summer Of ’59’ was the b-side of only the 7″ vinyl version. The single was also included in the 2022 box set The 7″ Singles Box.
