‘Meat Free Monday’ is a song by Paul McCartney in support of the international campaign of the same name.
The campaign aims to encourage people to not eat meat on at least one day a week, to improve their health, save animals, and benefit the planet.
McCartney founded the organisation in 2009, along with his daughters Mary and Stella. That year he also performed a new song, ‘Meat Free Monday’, on acoustic guitar.
McCartney later recorded the song at his studio, performing all instruments. It was made available from meatfreemondays.com on 3 December 2009.
To celebrate the launch of the newly redesigned Meat Free Monday website, Paul has made his MFM song available for download. Following on from his video performance of the song on acoustic guitar a few months ago, Paul entered the studio and has completed the whole song with additional lyrics and fleshed out the track with drum, bass, piano and electric guitar!

On 22 September 2014 a lyric video for the studio recording was uploaded to YouTube. It featured people from around the world as well as appearances from the McCartneys.
