Paul McCartney and George Michael recorded a version of Michael’s ‘Heal The Pain’ in 2005.

The song originally appeared on Michael’s Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1, and was released as a single in February 1991.

On 5 December 2005 Michael appeared on the Chris Evans show on BBC Radio 2 and announced that he had re-recorded the song with McCartney “last week” but was unsure what to do with it.

I was big into Abbey Road and Revolver. I made one record to show how much I loved Lennon [‘Praying For Time’], I made another record to show how much I loved McCartney. I didn’t dream McCartney would ever sing it. And actually when he sings it, it sounds like a Paul McCartney record!

The re-recorded ‘Heal The Pain’ was included on Michael’s compilation Twenty Five, which was released in the UK on 13 November 2006.

The album was released in the USA on 1 April 2008, and ‘Heal The Pain’ was issued as a single there in the same year.
