‘P2 Vatican Blues (Last Saturday Night)’ is the second song on George Harrison’s Brainwashed album.

The song harks back to Harrison’s Christian upbringing, and finds him casting a cynical and satirical “claustrophobic and ex-Catholic” eye over the church. The lyrics are some of Harrison’s most drily sardonic; a more jovial sequel of sorts to his 1970 song ‘Awaiting On You All’.

Now how come nobody really noticed?
Puff of white smoke knocked me out
The truth is hiding, lurking, banking
Things they do at night
‘P2 Vatican Blues (Last Saturday Night)’

Previous song: ‘Any Road’
Next song: ‘Pisces Fish’
