‘Don’t Let Me Wait Too Long’ is the fourth song on George Harrison’s fourth solo album Living In The Material World.

The song was planned as the follow-up single to ‘Give Me Love (Give Me Peace On Earth)’ on 24 September 1973, as Apple 1866, but the release was abandoned for unknown reasons.

While much of Living In The Material World is devotional towards God, on ‘Don’t Let Me Wait Too Long’ it is unclear whether Harrison is addressing a woman or deity. It is the only song on the album which Harrison did not discuss in his book I Me Mine.

In November 1976 Harrison performed ‘Don’t Let Me Wait Too Long’ with Paul Simon during pre-show recordings for their Saturday Night Live appearance. The song was omitted from the broadcast, but has been widely bootlegged.
