‘Any Road’ is the opening song on George Harrison’s Brainwashed album.

Harrison began working on the song during the sessions for Ravi Shankar’s Chants Of India album in 1996. The following year he played it briefly during an appearance on VH1.

‘Any Road’ was Harrison’s final single, released in the UK on 12 May 2003 with ‘Marwa Blues’ on the b-side. It spent two weeks on the UK singles chart, peaking at number 37.

Also released on the same day was an enhanced CD single which included a video directed by Simon Hilton and Pamela Esterson. The video featured shots of Harrison from throughout his career, from The Beatles to his final days.

The song was nomination for the Best Male Pop Vocal Performance award at the 2004 Grammy Awards, but lost out to Justin Timberlake’s ‘Cry Me A River’.

‘Any Road’ was included on the 2009 compilation Let It Roll: Songs By George Harrison.
