If that’s the programme I’m thinking of, it has a silver cover. The cover of my copy (which my auntie got for me, as she worked at the theatre) is signed by George Harrison. The other three Beatles signed a photograph – John signing as “Sir John Lennon” – I don’t know why George signed separately!
Sadly, the photograph was stolen from me some years ago. I know who took it. Maybe I should make an effort to get it back?
I remember the cover being ‘metallic’ gold, but I might be wrong. The ticket was 6 shillings and 6 pence. I was 11 years old and my brother was 5. We were taken there by our Mother and her friend, whose husband provided the tickets. It was an amazing night but I mostly remember constant screaming … I now live in Perth, Western Australia and many of my friends can’t believe how lucky I was to have actually seen the Beatles perform LIVE.
The above was not the front cover of the programme, but an inside page. I still have the programme from the East Ham Granada show (9/!!/63).
