One reason maybe the silliest I dunno why not in favor of CD’s early on: the packaging you got with an album that was physically impossible for a CD, i.e. these 4 separate beautiful 8x11color photos of each Beatle with the release of the White Album in November ’68 (not to mention the huge poster that came with it).
