I WAS THERE!! The 1st leg of their Meet The Beatles Tour. I was only 10ft away! It was August 9th ’64!! (Better change your date!). John put on a a police hat after the cop dropped it chasing down a fan. They were pelted by Jelly Beans after the rumor started that they loved them. Soon after SF they stoped that. They hurt them!! After the show I climbed over a latter on stage right and saw their trailer!! But, the police caught me and escorted me out to the front while I passed all the screaming fans on the other side of the fence! I was still inside at that point, walking the full distance of the Cow Palace to the front. Everyone ask me who I was!! I said in a English accent “I’m Paul’s Brother!”. They said “no you aren’t! I Laughed!! This is an absolutely true story!!! I’m now 66 years old and can remember it like it was yesterday. I’ve been drumming ever since “63 when I first heard them sent me some 45’s! I also their last official concert at Candelstick. I also have stories on that as well if anyone is interested?
