The performance by the Beatles at the New Brighton Tower Ballroom on October 12,1962 is purported to be the first performance at which Lennon’s previously natural colored Rickenbacker 325 C58 guitar was seen in the Jetglo black color he had it painted, which is the same color/condition the iconic guitar remained when he played it on the Ed Sullivan show and thereafter, until later having it restored to its original color while living in New York.
