I’m not sure you’ll find anyone who thinks The Beatles ever had a better producer than George Martin, but I’ll add my vote to the list anyway.

Spector was unquestionably an important, talented and visionary producer in his day. But “his day” largely ended, and his work became irrelevent, with the rise of self-contained rock and pop bands, stereophonic sound, and the ascendence of FM over AM radio.
Me, I don’t like Jeff Lynne productions. Even in the ’70s, when the art & science of recorded sound were (imho) at their peak, even on those ’70s ELO records I own (or owned), I enjoyed ’em DESPITE the production – and I usually believe there’s “no such thing” as OVER-production. “Out Of The Blue ” especially (probably because it’s a double LP and therefore twice as excessive as usual) was just like a wedding cake with too much frosting, all those vocoders and cellos and synthesizers and phased harmonies on EVERY SONG!, practically.
Paul: Yeah well… first of all, we’re bringing out a ‘Stamp Out Detroit’ campaign.
