Yes ITSKD, Pauls dad had the same reaction as George Martin. It does sound good “she loves you, yes!, yes!, yes!”. In light of that scene in When Harry Met Sally, im glad they didnt change it. The shock on Pauls dads face
(Edit: 22:52, 12/9/2011: It should read “doesnt sound good”.)

I had my first lesson of A level maths today. We were working out some stuff with a new, awkward method. Somebody asked my teacher whether it was possible to find the answer using an easier method that we learnt last year. She replied with “You need to do it the new way, even though you know what you know.”
I'm ignoring the fact that English isn't her first language and just thinking of that as a massive win.

Did you respond, “I know that I'm ready to leave… 'Cause you're making me feel like I've never been born”?
Sounds like a Beatley Moment to me!

During the Only Connect Connecting Wall you see ono and dakota and try to find the link to John Lennon , ending up getting the answers completely wrong because there isnt one. You then see Rape in the other wall and try and spend the 2 minutes trying to remember other John and Yoko films, again wrongly.

If the comment was aimed at me, then I would have sung it at the top of my lungs! But I instead had to incoherently explain to my friend what just happened. I think she found it odd that I'd shown enthusiasm in a maths lesson.

Only Connect is excellent! I've still never seen a wall with a Beatles link, but like you it's always the first link I attempt to find.

Im genuinely pleased to have found 1 of the 600,000 odd people who have discovered such an excellent and nearly impossible to answer quiz. People talk about how intelligent they feel when getting a question on university challenge right but it doesnt come close to when getting one correct in Only Connect. Try finding the link in banana, photo, pierre woodall, and a 16th century door handle. (Ok i made those 4 up, ive never heard of a pierre woodall, and there probably is no link but it is that difficult and obscure.)
To get back on topic.
You feel aggrieved that She Loves You wasnt played after From Me To You in a music store.

That's a great one. Whenever I hear the end of a Beatles song on the radio or in a store, I instinctively start singing the next song (the B side, the next album track, etc…).
I think mithveaen said she does the same thing.

I was watching a game show on Friday. Essentially, the show has a bit of distraction to whittle down the candidates to one pair, who then have to come up with three answers that fits a category, with nobody from 100 people asked getting at least one of the answers. On Friday, the category was “Solo UK Top Forty Hits from ex-Beatles” (that excluded collaborations with other artists or in bands). I plumped for You're 16, What Is Life and Mind Games – and Mind Games was one of the winning answers.
You're a hardcore Beatles fan if you can guess one of the other answers that won the prize. Pick three…
… the least obscure (in my mind) winning answers were When We Was Fab, (Just Like) Starting Over, Nobody Told Me, and Wonderful Christmastime . There were some more, but I can't remember them.
I told her I didn’t

Is that game show called Pointless? That's great, but I’'m usually at work when it’s on. I’m still yet to see a Beatles related question on there for myself!
What about I Got My Mind Set On You or Whatever Gets You Thru The Night ? Although I'’m thinking both may be a bit too popular.

I saw that episode of Pointless, opting for Bangladesh which also would have won the money.
Richard, the co-host, only showed a handful of the pointless answers, which is something they do if they are quite a few. I'd be amazed if George's number 38 single Ding Dong, Ding Dong hadnt been pointless . And no Ringo song was mentioned!
The episode will be on the bbc iplayer if anyone in the uk wants to see it.
A while back they had the question of naming top 40 beatles singles in the uk, it was the head-to-head round. The lowest answer was Real Love with 1 person saying it, cant remember any of the other lowest answers. The most popular answer was Hey Jude .
It is one of the better quiz's on tv. If you sky+ start 8 minutes in, you'll miss all the awful chat.

you know you're a hardcore Beatle fan when you're playing Loteria, and this conversation happens.
Friend : “Hey, why do you have two Musicians in your chart?”
Hardcore Beatle fan : “Because it's the Beatle's fan version. Don't you see they're Lennon and McCartney?”
Edit : It’s illegal to have the same “figure” twice in your Loteria card. That’s why my friend asked me that..

… You consider joining Twitter just to argue with Andrew Coyne over his opinions on the Beatles. They include:
- Holy moly, is Hey Jude ever a crap song.
- Like so many later Beatle songs. You Know My Name, Look Up the Number. Maxwell's Silver Hammer. Rocky Raccoon . Ob-la-Di Ob-la-da. etc.
- Christ I didn't even mention Octopus's Garden.
- So just admit it, people: the last good Beatles album was Revolver . Admit it. It will do you good.
He also says “No I LOVE the Beatles. All-time favorite band. Up to 1966.”, but yes. Coyne, I prefer you on BC, not the Beatles.

No. He thinks that the later albums have plenty of good songs (he loves Get Back , for example). Coyne is brilliant when he talks about Harper and Hudak, not so much when he talks of Pepper and Paul. I don’t really disagree so much, (he did say he loves Here Comes The Sun , for example), and I find Hey Jude is rather annoying, but I think he dismisses Abbey Road a tad early. Again, I love Coyne’s political and investigative work, but he doesn’t seem to be fully sane here.
