When you paw your way through your entire history textbook until you find a tiny little section about rock and roll…
only to discover that the only artists they talk about are Elvis and U2

Ohhh I suddenly realize that in that tiny paragraph about rock&roll in my history book, the only artist mentioned is the Beatles (who, “from England, also had a great impact on the world”).That’s too brief a description, but at least they are mentioned.

I suspect many of you already do this, but today I found myself seeing that I’d received messages from family and friends and deciding to check the forum first

I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.

Right now I’ve got someone from school asking me for help with a concept (I did the class last year), but here I am.
Very, very relatable

When your chemistry teacher makes you do ‘question number nine’ on the board and you get excited.
On a completely unrelated note, my chemistry teacher’s name is Mr. Einstein.

… you go to a ‘best of the students who did an arts subject at school’ performance and one performer brings out tablas and is accompanied by a sitar, and you recognise them both immediately

…you hear a Beatles song play, and sing along, as one does…but you make mma point of singing the BACKING vocals.

Sitting at a table today, and heard someone refer to what they did the night before. The song automatically played in my head and I wanted to rock out.

It’s ALL melody!
(Just had a great/terrible idea for a game: Identify the song based on backing vocals alone! Like, someone offers “No I wouldn’t, no I wouldn’t, OOOOH-OOH la la la” and then waits for the answer “You Won’t See Me “…)

Worth a try. We could attempt it in the derail thread, or you could make a thread?
Honestly I think it’s closer to “terrible” than “great” as an idea; I wasn’t wholly serious. It seems very limiting (but don’t let me stop you from starting a thread yourself!)
