- you harbour a burning desire to jump into a time machine and spend a day with John, Paul, George and Ringo;
Well not spend a day with them, but sure be there as their albums were released, received airplay, newspaper wrote about them and so on. And after all it’s not just about them, it’s also about the Byrds, the Kinks, the Stones,… From a musical point of view, those were the best times ever. I should have been born in 1943, not 1973.
Well, I was there. From what I remember the world was basically the same, just with less variety in food but better music.

You won’t move until a house becomes available on Penny Lane

for those on the western side of the Atlantic, if you’ve grown up through your
teen years listening to 10 or so Beatle Albums, you know how the songs are
‘supposed’ to sound:
so when you get the Mono ReMasters set, you spend a week burning new CDs
with the tracks in the ‘correct’ order…
AND you hunt down a version of “I’m Looking Through You ” that has the false
beginnings, and use a wave editor to paste these onto the front of the remastered version.
Likewise with “I’ve got blisters on my fingers..”

They’re in a different order? Also, “I’ve got blisters on my fingers” isn’t in your version? And I’m Looking Through You has a different opening? Wow.
I finally finished Sgt. Pepper 2! Watch it here. (Sorry if this is annoying advertizing...)

Not what I appear to be was referring to the US albums @Knight, the US stereo Rubber Soul has a couple of false starts at the beginning of ‘I’m Looking Thru You’ that aren’t on any of the other mixes including the mono UK mix its absent. Same goes for the mono ‘Helter Skelter ‘ omitting the ‘I’ve got blister on my fingers’ shout from Ringo which is on the stereo.

You know you’re a hardcore Beatles fan when…
While you’re watching A Hard Day’s Night for the one hundred and fiftieth time, you sing the harmonising melody of “This Boy ” along with the instruments during Ringo’s “parade”.

…. And you give “If I Fell ” the Grammar-Nazi treatment.
Grammar Nazis are funny as there are so many different interpretations of the so-called “rules of grammar”.
I know, I have run a LOT of writing workshops for the consulting firm I sometimes work for.

…the Beatles are more popular than Jesus to you.
…you try to arrange random Beatles songs into whole new albums, like a Black Album or a Sgt. Pepper ‘s 2. (I’m actually doing a Sgt. Pepper ‘s 2. Check my signature. :3 )
…you’re pissed of when the Beatles Rockband doesn’t have your favorite songs.

When you’ve listened to Abbey Road so many times you can actually understand what John is saying in “Polythene Pam “, and you can sing the guitar solos from “The End “.

Are you saying there are people that *can’t* sing the guitar solos?
Let’s face it, there are people who’ve never even *heard* Abbey Road , let alone sing the guitars on the grand finale of the world’s greatest band.
Poor sods…

And you post to toot that you recorded all the basslines worth doing on the White Album in six days including 4 at 3am this morning because you couldn’t sleep and it meant only finishing 2 today. Because you have a new toy to record with and you’re thrilled to hear yourself playing like almost Paul McCartney .
