OK, so the title of the thread should be self-explanatory. When you sing along with Beatles, whose part do you sing? Do you ever drop (or go up) an octave?
I usually sing John's part. The only exceptions I can think of are songs that John doesn't sing on, “What Goes On ,” when I sing with Ringo, and “Paperback Writer ,” when I sing George's part.
If I seem to act unkind, it's only me, it's not my mind that is confusing things.

I usually try not to sing the high parts, but my voice changed slightly. So, I can do some songs where Paul sings. Some of his solo work, but it's not as high as it used to be. But for the most part, I sing with Paul. I'm an alto, sorta. I'm not a great singer, nor am I the best judge. But I usually sing with Paul. If you give me a harmony song, I might sing with John, because Paul always took the high parts.

It depends on the song, really. Some songs I try to do all of their parts, like in Help ! I try to do that, and then in Yellow Submarine I usually go for George's becuase it's so off, then in I Want To Tell You I go for Paul's. Usually though, I think I go for the lead, and the ones where it's John and Paul, I mostly try for Paul.

I'm not very sure. But On Help ! I sing Paul's lead, and if not, harmony 😀

Generally, I tend to sing the less-prominent parts, like the contrapuntal backing bits or especially the parts that deviate from the root note. As for the songs with the really close 3-part harmonies, I just kind of find my way through it as best I can – in such cases, I probably don't accurately sing one singer's part all the way through. (The law of averages!)
(And yeah, I'm a pretty inept singer! I certainly don't do it for anyone's entertainment, or when anyone's listening. The exception being a terrible drunken-karaoke rendition of “Strawberry Fields Forever ” that I mentioned in some previous thread.)
Paul: Yeah well… first of all, we’re bringing out a ‘Stamp Out Detroit’ campaign.

Mostly George's. I, especiallyu on the three parter's, I try and and hit the middle voice, which is usually George.

I always sing along with Paul because I have a higher voice, so it's easier for me to sing along with him because he sings the highest of the four. And then when I feel lazy I just sing along with the lead in different octaves that fit my voice range.

Oh, one thing- singing along with John on Twist And Shout shouldn't be allowed. The listener should answer, not call
To a lesser extent, I don't feel right singing along with Ringo in the verses of With A Little Help From My Friends .

I do, because my voice is worse then Ringo's.

That's a joke, right? I mean, your voice probably is worse than Ringo's, but you were making a clever joke with your famous dry Canadian wit?
I don't feel right singing along with Ringo, not because my voice is superior to his (it isn't, not of late at least) and I don't want to be associated with him, but because it feels like “enquiring masses” and “Ringo”. if I sing along with “enquiring masses” (or “answering masses” in Twist And Shout ) then I'm part of the mass, but if I sing with Ringo/John, I'm turning it into Ringo/John+Tom.

It's bad, but I was being sarcastic. Good catch.

Usually I sing the lead, but I'm not all so great at singing anyways, so I really don't do a whole lot of that! Also, when I do decide to sing somebody usually yells at me to stop, becuase I guess I don't pick good times to do that.
After I took it, it opened my eyes. We only use one-tenth of our brain. Just think what we could all accomplish if we could only tap that hidden part. It would mean a whole new world. If the politicians would take LSD, there wouldn't be any more War or poverty or famine.
