Heaven above!!! I’m going to need a pacemaker if I continue to look at those gorgeous pictures of Paul! Not to take up for Jane, or against women ,or against Paul….but from what I understand, Jane left Paul frequently to pursue her acting career. She was in America with a Shakepeare company when he hooked up with Francie Schwartz. I’m not saying he was right to cheat on Jane…he wasn’t. But, Jane chose her career over Paul. I just don’t think she was all that commited to him in the first place. He needed her and she put her own interests first. I feel like they could have compromised if they were really in love. Just sayin’.

I agree with the compromising. I also feel like they should have know what they would getting themselves into when they got into the relationship. Even if it was not right away, I mean five years on you should pretty much know. He wanted her to give up her career and play housewife; furthermore, she did not want that. Paul left her as well frequently during tours, so he was not just home alone. And when was he CHOSE to fool around while she was away. So, what you are saying is because someone goes on business trips frequents it gives the spouse a right to cheat? Uh no. He should be lucky she put up with him as long as she did.
Don’t get me wrong I love The Beatles, Paul being my favorite, but they were not angels.

I’d play housewife for Paul. I’d play whatever he wants.

A career vs being a permanent plaything for Paul? That really isn’t even a question, is it LHL?

Depends if he would cheat or not.
He wouldn’t get a chance to. I’d be all over him and travel with him to all his concerts, etc. like Linda did and like Nancy does now. In one of those interviews someone asked Paul what he cannot live without on his tours, and his one word answer was “Nancy”.

See, that’s the thing..we’re talking about Paul McCartney here. He’s not just some schmuck. I’ve dated those guys. Once a cheater, always a cheater. Look what happened after Jane and Paul broke up. Shortly thereafter he met Linda. And, once they became serious…no more cheating. Jane didn’t give him a chance. I definitely would. Paul then married “that woman” and he didn’t cheat on her…and he isn’t cheating on Nancy. So, I think Jane blew it. He is a sincerely decent man (not an angel) but he has been rehabilitated. He’s Paul McCartney !!! I’d take him, flaws and all!!! That’s all I’m saying. And for him to be Paul McCartney and not cheat on his wives is saying alot! Look at Warren Beatty (sp?) or even Mick Jagger)…they had all those millions of women…and they are not Paul McCartney by any means. I’ll take Paul for better or for worse. Linda was the luckiest lady in the world!

It’s not about Jane never being about, neither was Paul as he was off around the world and Jane wasn’t banging any guy who happened to be about. Sometimes it seems to come down to the attitude that if a guy sleeps around he’s a redblooded male (get in there son!) yet if its a woman she is a slut (what a bitch!).

I see. Well played, you sassy bitch.
I really wish Paul had kept the hairstyle/scruff thing going on in that first picture for the whole of the ’70s. Also probably that shirt.
Also, LHL, there exists a snippet of Paulsass that you really should see, if you haven’t already. It’s a longish interview with him from his latest tour, I think he’s in Quebec. Anyway the young interviewer lady is wearing this sparkly spangly cropped jacket thing and after their initial introductions he’s all “BTW I’ll have that jacket when you’ve finished with it” and flounces offscreen without a backward glance. It is most excellent.

Is it the rendezvous with CBC interview? I don’t have time to rewatch it, but she’s wearing a sparkly coat on that one.
