I think the Ringo’s “Photograph” and Paul’s “Sally G.” and “Heart Of The Country ” are more like the Beatles works.

I would add George’s “What Is Life “. If you took some of Phil Spector’s production elements out of that song, I could see it fitting in on Rubber Soul .

I’ve always thought Paul’s work in 1971, particularly Ram and “Another Day “, to be extremely Beatley, mainly because it seems he was trying to establish his new work as Paul+Linda as a very vocal-harmony based group with intricate vocal parts much like the Beatles. A lot of Ram I can imagine very clearly with John and George’s voices gracing the background in the harmonies, and have you ever listened to “Another Day ” with good headphones? The complexity of the harmonies is amazing and something I can imagine the McCartneys really took their time on. Elton John claimed they were the best harmonies he had ever heard on a record. Also the eclectic, freewheeling feel and rockabilly style of Ram really evokes the late-period Beatles to me. “Uncle Albert /Admiral Halsey ” could easily have been on Abbey Road , as “Get Back ” could easily have been on Ram .

Maybe I’m Amazed would have fitted perfectly on Abbey Road . The Back Seat Of My Car too, perhaps (the winding guitar arpeggios are very Abbey Road ).

Paul’s songs from McCartney, Ram (including Another Day and Oh Woman , Oh Why) and Flaming Pie (even if it’s 1997).
Sont des mots qui vont très bien ensemble.

I love that tune and you’re right on with your assesment in my opinion. I wonder… is there a pre-spector demo of that tune anywhere? Something more raw?

Oh Yoko reminds me of Honey Pie and When I’m Sixty Four a little bit… I don’t see where it would fit on any album though

Glad to have introduced it to you
Was listening to Fine Line earlier and that’s pretty Beatly, could see fragments of that being whacked out on a piano during the White Album sessions.

I’ve always thought No Words sounded like a Lennon/McCartney duet, at least in some passages, of course from the musical style it doesn’t sound like beatles but just the voices

I’ve heard a lot of people say Woman by JL is very Beatley, but I don’t particularly see it. I can’t imagine them ever having recorded it.

I’d have more trouble hearing it as a Beatles song if we didn’t have Free As A Bird and Real Love as examples of a Beatlefied solo song.
For some reason I could hear “Riding into Vanity Fair” with Beatle background vocals.
