Looking at the thousands of Beatle images on Google, there are many photos of John signing autographs, even when it would seem he was otherwise busy. Same is true of Paul, but not to the same extent. Very few pictures of George and Ringo signing autographs.

There are also photos of John and Paul mingling with fans at various points in their career, but again, not nearly as many with George and Ringo.

GRANDFATHER: Why do you always use your left hand?

PAUL: Well, don't be daft, I've got to.

GRANDFATHER: And I take a left-handed view of life, I've got to.

The footage of John and Yoko walking through NYC and john stopping to sign an autograph during the music video for Woman always makes my heart leap. The look in the guys eyes is just amazing. Pail is also great with fans, as he brings new new fan onstage for every concert!

There’s 1980 footage of John/Yoko walking through Central Park. Someone asks when are the Beatles getting back together, and he says “tomorrow.” a-hard-days-night-john-6

You do get the idea that if you got John on the right day, there’d be no one better to meet. You look at encounters beyond the ones already mentioned. The Vietnam vet, Carlos, in the grounds of Tittenhurst. “Let’s give him something to eat.” The fan that he gave his copy of the Butcher cover to in exchange for an early bootleg. Paul Goresh, who first tricked his way into John and Yoko’s apartment at the Dakota, but still became an accepted fan and almost unofficial photographer.

You get John on a bad day though, hard to imagine anything much more scary and soul destroying.

The thought of John giving an autograph to you know who on the day he died still makes me shudder. I kind of understand why George and Ringo might have not wanted to mingle with fans so much after that!

I think it's great you're going through a phase,

and I'm awfully glad it'll all be over in a couple

of days
