The last time somebody (me?) mentioned “Carnival Of Light ” on one of these threads, someone else replied “yeah yeah but what about jamming sessions they recorded around between the finish of Pepper and the beginning of MMT??”, and I’d like to heartily second that suggestion. To hear the Beatles messing around and hopefully employing the kind of fuzztones and feedback they were fond of at the time…it’d be a fascinating footnote to acid-rock history at worst, a gift from the psychedelic gods at best. (At least, for me it would. Potentially.)

Yes that’d be very interesting. I’d also love some demos, alternate takes and that kind of stuff, to see how the songs evolved, just like we’ve seen with Strawberry Fields Forever . I personally find it very interesting to see how a song starts as a simple thing on a piano or guitar, and how it keeps on developing into the masterpiece it ends up as.

For the reissued remastered ‘Let It Be’ i’d like to see a 2 dvd, 4 cd deluxe and replica of the ‘Let It Be ‘ book edition for the hardcore fans.
The dvds would consist of the movie, full rooftop concert, all promo’s and some of the more interesting performances and moments not otherwise covered.
The cd’s would involved the full concert (yip, give us the audio), one of the unreleased albums compiled by Glyn Johns (either #2 or 3 as they are tighter than #1 but more varied than #4, even include the oddities as additions), and 2 discs filled with outtakes – one from Twickenham, the other from Apple. No outfakes or newly created remixes. Give it the ‘what the f**k!!’ treatment.
And instead of seeking out the corporate numpties who add up the Apple balance columns for what to include ask the fan experts who know whats in the vaults and what the fans want.
To cover the casuals the dvd could come out by itself as well as a slimmed down 2 dvd, 2 cd edition of the highlights of the outtakes and the Johns disc.

I’d like to see what everyone else has said they’d wish to see, but I’d also like to hear the new songs they haven’t released. One good example I’d say is Annie. Apparently John wrote it for Ringo to sing during the Pepper sessions. The only recordings we have of it are from the Get Back bootlegs, which suck.

I would like to see an indepth box set documeting the evolution of the albums from their earliest possible stages to the finished product. The albums are iconic so it would be a feast for the scholars, fellow musicians, and fans to hear how they were put together – and include the singles with the relevant albums (Strawberry Fields and Penny Lane go in the Pepper boxset). So for example an 8cd Pepper set that includes demos where possible + every take 1 in its earliest stage, + a whole host of takes that show us how the songs were formed (no new edits tho – dont give me the drums from take 5 of Lovely Rita which the bass of take 2, Pauls alternate vocal from take 23, the piano from the second reduction, and the backing vocals from the master.
(Im not a fan of those edited together takes, i get why it was done as well as the arguements for (the beatles did the same thing in the sixties), give me the unaltered, original raw tapes complete with flubs, mistakes and whatever.)
Aim it at the collectors, dont try and cover possible new fans, those who only know a few album, and the hardcore fans in one go.
I could not agree with you more @meanmistermustard. When I read opinions about the White Album being too long or the songs being of uneven quality, I have a similar opinion as this. I WANTED IT ALL and I think that’s what thankfully the Beatles gave us (despite Sir Martin’s disapproval).

Perhaps with the 50th of Sgt. Pepper coming soon (2017, baby), maybe they’ll release the Carnival Of Light as a single with some other rare Pepper stuff as a B-side?
I finally finished Sgt. Pepper 2! Watch it here. (Sorry if this is annoying advertizing...)

Cant see any ‘Carnival Of Light ‘ release happening sadly. George was very firm on its omission from ‘Anthology 2 ‘ and i cant see Olivia and Dhani going against that.

‘George Martin Scores The Beatles’. 27 of the greatest orchestral scores George Martin wrote for the Beatles material, direct from the EMI/Apple mastertapes.
Already they have given us the score for ‘Eleanor Rigby ‘ and ‘Within You, Without You’ on ‘Anthology 2 ‘ and listening to the isolated score for ‘I Am The Walrus ‘ its quite fabulous.

This should be released to the masses. And then to everyone else outside the Catholic church. Ok the Beatles are on it to but its Apple, a little incompetence is inevitable so why not do it intentionally and give us something decent.

I think I’d just have to say ‘everything’. I like @meanmistermustard’s idea of doing boxsets showcasing the evolution of the songs, and I’d definitely want those. I have no idea what’s hiding in those vaults, but I’d be interested to find out. Unreleased songs, alternative takes, outtakes, demos, improvisations, random crap, anything would be welcome! I am thoroughly unfamiliar with most of the bootlegs as well, so whatever they’d release, chances are it’d be new to my ears.
P.S. That Strawberry Fields Forever instrumental track is all kinds of Fab! Thanks for that, MMM.
