Yesterday I was talking with some fans about the piece of Beatles history we’d like to see in a museum so everyone could enjoy it.
What piece of Beatles memorabilia or history would you like to see made publicly accessible?parlance
I’d like to see the actual instruments they used. Realistically, though, the original stuff is either in posession of the original owners, busted up, stolen, lost, auctioned off, or in other museums around the world. Replicas, pictures of same, or pictures of the boys playing them either in the studio or in concert would be a nice idea, ‘cos the original gear isn’t available.

Yeah, that’s why I mentioned keyboards, on the assumption that they’d be the possession of EMI studios and still located there. (Yeah right)
GEORGE: In fact, The Detroit Sound. JOHN: In fact, yes. GEORGE: In fact, yeah. Tamla-Motown artists are our favorites. The Miracles. JOHN: We like Marvin Gaye. GEORGE: The Impressions PAUL & GEORGE: Mary Wells. GEORGE: The Exciters. RINGO: Chuck Jackson. JOHN: To name but eighty.

A local record store has a display case of old memorabilia for sale, like a Yellow Submarine board game, and I always love perusing it.

I’d like a deep and detailed account of their childhood and school life – I think it’s my inner psychological profiler wanting to know if their upbringing affected their lives.
"White Album - My joint-fave Beatles album along with Revolver. They show the two sides of Beatles. Revolver's very controlled - even though it's also very innovative. The White Album's playful and almost ramshackle. It's like a scrapbook kept by a genius. Fantastic stuff."

Paul’s hair dye, his toupe, his dentures (oops, wrong thread!)…actually, some of the keyboards and sound equipment, microphones, and chairs (and Ringo’s ashtray) still exist. They are at the Apple studios. My friends went on a tour of the studios last spring, and had their pictures taken with them. Truly cool. Wow…we are thinking big here. I can’t top cbatcu with the Universe, so I’ll go with the handcuffs Paul was in when he was arrested in Japan (can you imagine what those would be worth?), my Beatles cards..I still have a full set of my Beatles bubblegum cards, and the tutu that John wore on stage in Hamburg. (By the way…does anyone know where Stu’s artwork is??? I’m not sure Astrid has it.)

John’s ashes…where ever Yoko maybe hiding them if she didn’t scatter them. Anyone know?
Some folks say the ashes were scattered, others that Yoko has them. Nothing has been confirmed.

Wasn’t some of Stu’s artwork auctioned?
Paul and handcuffs. I think a few minds here might be going wandering.
I came to this thread to add an object, but….ahhhhhhh…now I’ve entered the one track mind zone. When I regain my composure, I’ll remember what it was. daaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh

You guys absolutely crack me up! Okay…seriously…I think we should put Paul & Heather’s divorce papers into the museum ( in a small wing we’ll call the “Beatles Oops…Can’t Believe We Did That!” wing. That’s where we’d also put Paul’s handwritten plans for “Magical Mystery Tour …great music, but even Paul wonders what he was thinking with that!…and the electronics that Magic Alex was “working on” in the Apple basement!)

Is this a Beatles-as-a-group museum only or are we expanding to their solo careers too? John’s ashes and Paul’s dentures would be going in post-Beatles territory. We do need to set our collection development policy.
Are we going to digitize any of our collection to make it available on the ‘net? Has anyone worked out a metadata scheme?
