Ah, but you wouldn't be able to play the tapes in case they degraded. Apparently since they were digitally backed up they stay on the shelves at Abbey Road . Personally I'd rather have something I could use than a load of tapes to look at, however valuable and unique they may be.
Not that it would stop me playing them, of course.
