I’m going, on my birthday! (26 April, since you asked.) I won’t record the talk, because I don’t want to get thrown out, but I will be tweeting photos etc, which can be embedded here afterwards.

I hope to meet Ken Scott too. Anyone got anything they desperately need to know? (No, I’m not asking *that* question. I don’t think he worked on Sgt Pepper anyway.)

What an opportunity! I am hard pressed to think of a better way to spend your birthday.

I don’t really NEED to know, but it might be interesting to know if he recieved any parting words of advice or warning from Geoff Emerick as he (Emerick) bailed out on the White Album .

Just as well – you can leave your ten foot pole at home.a-hard-days-night-george-10

A Birthday to remember for sure, we’ll be there in spirit along with George & John and you never know, Paul or Ringo may just happen to drop by personally for a nice Birthday surprise….:-)

April 26th… you say it’s your birthday? Well, it’s my birthday too, yeah! :) (I’m sorry; as soon as I saw that coincidence, I just spontaneously burst out singing that Beatles’ song. Now, back to the topic of your Abbey Road visit.)

That’s a great way to spend a birthday. In keeping with the spirit, I will for sure play the album Abbey Road on our shared birthday, and I look forward to hearing about your experience in the studio.

Abbey Rd was opened up 30 odd years ago for a similar lecture on the studio’s history from Elgar onwards and of course  the Beatles. I remember Ringo’s kit and some guitars as being the focal points with the 4 track recording decks on the right. The highlights of the lecture….listening to the evolution of Strawberry Fields……….Footage of the Day In The Life recording  …….And ultimate of ultimate hearing George’s solo version ‘While My Guitar Gently Weeps ‘ and that lovely version of ‘I’m Looking Through You ‘. Both are on Anthology now and all the rest Youtube but at the time I had a smile as big as the OP…..

Although we are so lucky today to have so much available on the internet………Actually being in that studio as a one off is worth the money. Glad I did it, wish I’d taken photos.

I’m over to England next month pity it’s sold out.

I would pay just to be able to spend time in there alone, quietly soaking it all in. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Doors open at 10.30, it starts at 11am. I’ll probably get there as early as possible to have a nose around, so I’ll be crossing the crossing at about 10.25.

That’s 4:25 my time. I got up in the middle of the night as a teenager to watch Charles and Diana’s wedding. I guess I can get up that early to watch the Joe crossing.

When my family went to the Alamo, I called a friend and told her to look at the Alamo webcam. We waved, and she saw us.

Joe, you could have a sign and/or wave to us, but only if you want to. You might want to stand on the sidewalk to do so. We don’t need you getting squashed by a big truck.

Although… that would be a fascinating Beatles Bible moment if a slow, yellow lorry blows the horn at Joe, to get him to move out of the crosswalk. The lorry driver might yell “What, do ya got no where to go!?!” ;-)

We don’t want Joe to meet that “sticky end” that he talked about. I don’t even want him to come close.

Well, we’re just about a week away here Joe, getting excited yet?  I’ll be sure to do my Time Zone conversions for 10:25AM in Pacific Time, what should I look for, a nervous British lad who’s “weak in the knee”?  A Birthday Boy who’d just seen “another banjo” and went “out to buy a  B I G  Balloon”?  That WebCam also has Audio you know, perhaps you could sing us a song?  Admin Joe LIVE from Abbey Road !  And on his Birthday no doubt!  Whether I catch you or not, you’ll be in my thoughts for sure and so you know, after you soaked up all them rays on your glorious day in the sun, a lengthy review post is most anticipated…:-)

Yeah, it’s going to be brilliant. No songs on the webcam though – you wouldn’t want to hear me sing!

The camera on my phone (Nexus 4) isn’t all that good, but I’ll tweet some pics when I can. I’ll also take a DSLR and take some snaps in Studio Two, but you’ll have to wait for those.

Just a little under 24 hours to go until the Abbey Road crossing cam #joewatch begins.

Joe if you just have your phone out with the green BB banner showing, even just unobtrusively in you hand down by your side facing the cam as you cross the street, we would all recognize that green, digital glow. We are all just curious and excited about the chance to spot you.

Really, though, it is o.k. if you don’t. We are all hoping you have a glorious visit to Studio 2.
