Well my state exams finished last Friday (woohoo) and of course I had to shove some Beatle references in there:
English- My character in my essay may have been called George and Pattie
Irish- My band played Beatles songs
French- I found Help ! a very funny film
German- I got tickets to a Paul McCartney concert
Geography- Wrote a tourist destination in London is Abbey Road
History- Mentioned popular music in Ireland in the 1960’s were The Beatles
Business Studies- Wrote my letter on “February the 25th”
Home Economics- Once again wrote my letter on “February the 25th” (God I’m so original with dates ) signed it Ann Rigby and labelled a carton of eggs that were laid on “Week No.9”
Religion- Wrote an entire question about George and his searching for “the meaning of life” through his music (that question was just made for me). Also did all my questions on Hinduism
9/12 subjects, not bad Katie, not bad Jesus I need to get a life

Wow, how do you fit so many in? I bet all your teachers all ask each other what you said about them in their exam
And congrats on finishing your exams!!

^^^Congrat’s on finishing your exams! I think it is fab the way your worked the Beatles into all those subjects!! That takes some creativity!! Good job
Does anyone else think in terms of Beatles songs during the normal course of their day? For instance….a discussion last night at home, someone was talking about something and said “nothing is real” and immediately I say “and nothing to get hung about?”!! Or when I was telling my hubby how much our dog loves him, I said “She loves you! Yeah, yeah, yeah”! Or is that just me?!

Nope, not just you.I don’t get it as often now, I suppose because I have more things in my head and I’m no longer new to them, but I still think of them in my day to day life. Quite often, now I think about it.
In fact, I was just on the phone and I said ”I’m losing you” (the signal was weak). Guess what song I began to sing as soon as I got off the phone?
And yesterday, I was writing out something for Chemistry and I wrote ”the two atoms come together (yeah)”. I didn’t even realise I wrote the yeah bit until I got my work out this morning!

When i see the word atom nowadays i get Mr H. Atom in my head.
“Mr H Atom lives in a flat on the male side of town.”
So damn catchy.

Nope not just you. But perhaps I’m worse as I’m Dutch and have it both in English AND Dutch.

Congrats from a fellow graduate! :->
Two of my classmates have used Beatle songs in their video projects. One used “Ain’t She Sweet ” and the other used “Dear Prudence .” I tried to come up with an excuse to use one in my own, but couldn’t.

I am chair of the scholarship committee for my state association. I started the email reminder to students to apply for a scholarship like this:
“Money Can’t Buy Me Love .” ~Lennon/McCartney

Here’s one I posted in In My Life
—
I am preparing my Annual Report for my section of the state library association. Here’s what I have as of now. Names are changed to protect the innocent.
Technical Services Roundtable
Annual Report 2013-2014
OFFICERS:
Ahhh Girl (Chair), Sadie (Vice-Chair/Chair-Elect), Chuck (Secretary)
Chuck did such a wonderful job writing down the Things We Said Today each time the roundtable met. We didn’t have to wait very long for the minutes after each meeting; he posted them very quickly. Sadie, I have all confidence that TSRT will be in good hands as I pass it From Me To You .
MEETINGS:
Do You Want To Know A Secret ? Ask me why I love TSRT, and I will tell you it is because the members of TSRT just have to act naturally and the Magical Mystery Tour of another successful year of networking and programming makes me Glad All Over . I have only Words Of Love for all those who participated in meetings and gave me so much help this year: list of names.
We met here, there, and everywhere during the year. Four of our seven meetings were offered in a hybrid face-to-face/WebEx format. The remaining three meetings were face-to-face only.
WORKSHOP:
Her Majesty (aka The Queen Bee), Prudence, the speaker for our Bee Informed: Taking the Sting out of RDA workshop asked us, “Do you want to know what you’re doing when it comes to RDA?” She gave us a solid rolling start then told us “Think For Yourself “. She Said She Said “Tell Me What You See ” on the ingenious “book” and “video” handouts she gave us to catalog using RDA standards. Her handouts from the workshop will help the catalogers across the state recognize and create quality RDA records.
CONFERENCE:
TSRT sponsored six sessions at conference:
State of ILL presented by Dave
I Never Met-a-Data I Didn’t Like presented by Henry and Desmond
Acquiring E-books presented by Ahhh Girl, Rita, and Lucy
TSRT Business Meeting presented by Ahhh Girl
BISAC: Not Just for the Bookstore? presented by Lucille
Not Your Grandpa’s Comic Books presented by Lizzie, Martha, Jude, and Maxwell
ELECTION RESULTS:
Mary Jane is our new Vice-Chair/Chair-Elect. Michelle is our new Secretary. Since TSRT is such an outstanding group of people, they will not be saying I should have known better by the end of their service time.
INVITATION:
If you’ve ever wondered what goes on at a TSRT meeting, we hope you will join us Any Time At All . I’ve got a feeling you will dig it.
Submitted by Ahhh Girl
TSRT Chair, 2013-2014

I write Beatles references into my work all of the time. We often get a make-your-own-question question on math tests, and once I made it about George sending records to Astrid in Hamburg.

One time I was at school complaining about some dream I had the night before to my teacher, and then I asked him “What Is Life ?” and his response was “that’s a George Harrison song”. I didn’t mean for that to be a Beatles reference, but his acknowledgment of that being the title of a George song made me happy.

For the Got To Get You Into My Life review I did a couple of weeks ago, I was just told I had to reference a website…. (I don’t see the point in bibliographies, sorry @Ahhh Girl) … So I referenced Beatles Bible! In a major assessment task, as it turned out… If I had of known it was a major assessment, I wouldn’t have reviewed song lyrics!

I did an English essay today, and forgot to put in a reference to the Fab Four…
It was about the genre of adventure… The very same genre I did a review of Got To Get You Into My Life for, yet I forgot all about GTGYIML. I feel like I’ve betrayed myself.
