Hey guys, I’m in a trivia competition and have 3 questions I need help with maybe y’all can answer.
– What do the songs “Sexy Sadie ” and “She Said, She Said” have in common, besides the fact that they are both multiple-word titles all beginning with the same letter, that can be said of NO OTHER BEATLES SONG?
– What makes the album “Hard Day’s Night” unique in the Beatles catalog?
– What do the songs “Boys ,” “I Am The Walrus ,” “Honey Don’t ,” “For You Blue ,” and “You Know My Name, Look Up the Number” all have in common?
Thanks for the help!

‘A Hard Day’s Night ‘, the album, is all Lennon/McCartney compositions, the only original studio album to be as such.
No idea about the others.

Having spent the last half hour racking my brains and researching, I’m afraid I can’t help you with the other two questions.
In fact, literally the only similarity I can find for the question about “Boys,” “I Am The Walrus,” “Honey Don’t,” “For You Blue,” and “You Know My Name Look Up the Number” is that they all contain every Beatle.
Sexy Sadie and She Said She Said are the only Beatles songs that are alliterate beginning with S (Mister Moonlight, Long Long Long, Maggie Mae , Rocky Raccoon , Bad Boy , Mean Mister Mustard, and Polythene Pam are also alliterate). I’m really gutted I can’t help!

On the Sexy Sadie and She Said She Said question, I would suggest it could be that the person who inspired the songs is given a sex change during John’s writing of the song. Sexy Sadie started out as Maharishi, and was an attack on Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, who was later disguised as Sexy Sadie to avoid legal action; while She Said She Said started life as He Said He Said and was inspired by an encounter with actor Peter Fonda who freaked John out during an acid trip.
I will think on the other one.

I think i got it, those 5 songs were all released on singles in an English speaking country. Boys was released as a single in Canada in 1965, I Am The Walrus is the B-side to Hello, Goodbye , Honey Don’t is the B-side to the Australian Rock And Roll Music single, For You Blue is the B-side to The Long And Winding Road , and You Know My Name (Look Up The Number) is the B-side to Let It Be .

That doesn’t make sense to me as an answer, @Dark Overlord, as more than one were also released as b-sides in non-English speaking countries. Though the answer may be they were all b-sides, without being so specific as to the primary language in the country of release. I’m still thinking about it though.

She Said She Said and Sexy Sadie have a similar structure, with the first lines being the title of the song, and playing the main section before going into the middle eight and back into the main section.
They both go
A B A B and then the ending part.
If you want to go the obvious route you can say they are both John songs with great drumming from Ringo.
Although Lady Madonna is structurally similar and also has the title said first.

The answer is unique to those two songs, @sir walter raleigh, which I don’t think either of your suggestions are; certainly not your second, unless you really think John Ringo only drummed great on two John songs!

John didn’t drum on Sexy Sadie or She Said, She Said, Ringo did the drumming on both of those songs. The only songs that John played drums on is Back In The USSR and I Need You .

I think I got it in post 4, unless you can think of a song that contradicts it.

ive been on the move all day and posting from mobile, so I’ve done a very poor job reading threads. I cannot think of another song to contradict that, and I’m very impressed with the creativity of the question.
Apologies for the careless posting.

Please Mister Postman is another song where The Beatles changed the gender.
Original:
There must be some word today
From my boyfriend who’s so far away
Please, Mr. Postman, look and see
Is there a letter, a letter for me?
Beatles:
There must be some word today
From my girlfriend so far away
Please Mister Postman look and see
If there’s a letter, a letter for me
Although it doesn’t count if we’re just referring to original songs.

Ron was referring to Beatles originals where the gender changed from male to female rather than covers as there are plenty of examples of gender changing in Beatles covers due to Girl Groups having such an influence, ‘Devil In Her Heart ‘ being another.
B-Sides (possibly English speaking countries) for Question 3 is so vague and where was ‘Honey Don’t ‘ the b-side* unless you’re going into random countries for examples. I have a vague remembrance that ‘Boys ‘ was a US single in 1965 but may be wrong and I’m not sure if it was the a or b. I thought about name checking other Beatles but ‘I Am The Walrus ‘ doesn’t.
*I missed Do’s post (#5) above.

And I was specifically referring to what happened to them while they were being written. There were many covers they did where they made changes. As original songs, I believe the changes unique to those two songs.

Could be but so does ‘Honey Pie ‘, not that there may not be others that are omitted from the list that suit.
