Maybe this is painfully obvious for Beatlemaniacs, but I've noticed a “trident” symbol on the guitars of both Paul and John in the “Revolver ” album artwork. Is it just the guitar brand symbol (Rickenbacher/Hofner???) or is there a deeper meaning?

The “trident” symbol is the trademark for Epiphone Guitars. That's all. You can Google Epiphone's history and find out what their meaning behind the symbol is. (I'm sure it means something.)

I’d love one of those. They’re great looking guitars. I’m a Rickenbacker player myself, though

Indeed, Joe, Rickenbakers are great looking guitar too. But I didn’t find any left-handed…
I’ve already have this one:

Marcelo,
is it just a coincidence with the images or are you left-handed?

No coincidence at all. In another thread I write about my simpathy for Paul (and Ringo) for being left-handed.
In fact I search for not-mirrored images to post here.
They are very nice guitars, hows the sound quality?
