Kind of unrelated since these weren’t really people who claim to be fans, but I wore these socks today
and four different people asked me what was on my socks. I always thought that the Yellow Submarine from their movie was a pretty universally known image, but apparently not.

Some time ago I played ‘guessing-Beatles-basslines’ with the bassist in our school Big Band and one bassline part he played I couldn’t guess (shame on me, really!), it was only a very short part, about two or three seconds. Because I hadn’t had the slightest idea, I asked for a clue. He grinned at me and said ‘I thought you were a Beatles fan, how can’t you know it? It’s from the White Album ‘ I still didn’t know it so I gave up and asked him which song it was. His answer was:

No it’s not. In that sentence they never even called My Sweet Lord a Beatles song. They just asked what the other Beatles’ opinion was on it. The Beatles may have broken up in 1969, but each of the four men who were in that group will forever be a Beatle.
