BeatlebugI've been up on the mountain, and I've seen his wondrous grace,
I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.

Happy Birthday Klaus!
I was thinking about him the other day actually.
No many people outside of Beatles fans would know who he is but he has played bass on some amazing records and has done some amazing artwork as well.

Forgive me, but I think I actually like them better than George and Pattie. I have a thing for pretty boys in vests/short haired girls who sometimes wear it twice as long/ruffly shirts. Also, their eyes look so haunting.

You are forgiven. They are worthy.
(also, I think Astrid’s better-looking than Pattie. Mr. Kite may kill me for saying that but oh well)

Pattie’s objectively better-looking, but I like Astrid’s style, she’s more striking to me. Again, my thing for short-haired/vaguely androgynous girls rears its head.

Funny, I watched ‘Above Us Only Sky’ only a couple of days ago and remember thinking ‘gee Klaus would be so much fun to be around’.
Happy birthday for the other day Klaus!

Stu and Astrid may just be my third favourite Beatle couple after George and Pattie and Paul and Linda. They had so much passion and talent between them for their artwork/photography and their friendship and strong support for John, Paul George and Pete on stage motivated them to keep heading to the toppermost of the poppermost! Like I said in the Stu thread the other week, it’s a real shame they never got that chance to marry or for Stu to truly pursue in his art after leaving the group.

Great thread title!there were all these little mini-countercultures in the early ’60s – Greenwich Village folk musicians, avant-garde jazz musicians, beatnik-poets/artists, rock-and-rollers
If you read ‘Mods’ by Richard Barnes (originally published 1979, but still available), there are lots of parallels between the Exis and fledgling Mod movement of the late ’50s and early ’60s, especially the continental outlook.

Gorgeous photo, @Ron Nasty! I don’t think I’ve seen that one before! *saves to camera roll*
Also, Klaus’s A Sideman’s Journey turns 10 today! I’ll have to see if I can pick myself up a copy sometime soon
Again, speaking of Klaus, I watched Above Us Only Sky just yesterday, and I came across one of the most gorgeous photographs of him, and one that I’ve never seen before. They showed it when Klaus was talking about Yoko taking the double-exposure Polaroid cover of Imagine , as it was a multiple-exposure of himself. By any chance, does anybody here know where I can find this photo, outside of the film? Thanks much in advance!!
