I don’t think they are particularly troubling. I think I’m just very under-practiced, that’s all.
I’m sorry, that’s no problem. You can maybe just say ‘near’ and replace the ‘n’ by a ‘k’ when you want to say ‘Kir’. The ‘i’ is going to be a bit long then, perhaps pronounce the ‘i’ just as in ‘kitchen’, that should work. As for ‘herr’, it sounds basically just like ‘there’ but with an ‘h’ instead of a ‘t’ at the beginning. Does this help?
Yep! That`s very helpful! Thanks much!
Thanks much for the tip! I always thought that there might have been an almost cat hiss-type sound, would that perchance be any similar? Sorry if that was a silly question.
No, not at all a silly question. That’s actually a good comparison for many occasions in which ‘ch’ is used. If you managed to pronounce it a little bit lighter and not that threatening as a cat hiss, that would be the icing on the cake!
Ah, thanks much! That`s good; cat hiss-type noises are very easy for me to make.
Fun fact: Did you know that Kirchherr means ‘church man’ if you translate it word by word?
Another nice picture of Astrid together with Klaus and Heinz Kessling:
Doesn’t she look amazing with a ponytail?
Yes, she does! Klaus looks lovely as well!
Thanks much again!!!

KLAUS IS SINGING IN HOUND DOG! KLAUS IS SINGING IN HOUND DOG!!!
Well, I’ve melted into a puddle. Klaus should have really sung more often; he’s got a gorgeous voice, in my opinion. His backing vocals in Bring It On Home To Me from that medley on John’s Rock ‘N’ Roll get me every time.
Only thing is, IT’S CUT OFF AT THE END.

I never knew much about Klaus Voorman, other than that he drew the amazing Revolver album cover (in pen and ink?), and that he plays deeply satisfying bass for Ringo’s song “Step Lightly” (from the Ringo album). That one walking bass line down to a deep Eb (he must have tuned the low E string down a half step) is an impeccable, subtle climax for that nicely understated song.
P.S.: Also kudos to Tom Scott for arranging and apparently playing the two clarinets, one a deep register (bass clarinet?) — smooth & droll.

I’m watching an AXS TV special on the great album John Lennon /Plastic Ono Band, and Klaus is in it throughout giving interviews and showing off some of his basslines. He’s such a great guy.

In honour of Klaus’s 80th birthday today, I made some pudding desserts:
The yellow layer is French vanilla with chocolate chips, the red layer is just French vanilla, and the black layer is French vanilla with cinnamon; together they make a tasty little German flag. To top it off, white star sprinkles.
Happiest of birthdays to that talented German bugger!

I found an interesting site called “Merseyside On Film” and thought this might be a good place to post this. Here’s a clip about a very young boy band who met Astrid.
This is also very good with some clips of The Cavern
