Hey folks.
I was wondering, what do you think is the biggest change The Beatles went hrough say, in a year or 2.
here’s my shortlist.
Biggest change in:
1 year – 1967 – 1968 (Went from writing songs about Drugs and working with each other to make new sounds to hard rock and growing apart from each other)
2 years – 1965 – 1967 (Went from touring, writing songs about girls to changing the world with new studio techniques and sounds nobody had heard before)
3 years – 1966 – 169 (There’s a huge difference, let’s be honest! Revolver to Abbey Road . The 2 are like polar opposites ha ha!)
What do you guys think?

I think 1965-1967 was easily their biggest change since it began the ‘late’ Beatles period. With Help ! and Rubber Soul they were starting to move away from the poppy love songs of their early albums to more introspective and deeper songs. Then they stopped touring and released Revolver and Sgt. Pepper – again massive steps forward.
Yes Revolver and Abbey Road are different, but to be honest i’d say all of their ‘late’ albums are different to each other. In two years they went from Please Please Me to Rubber Soul – like wtf!
