I always thought this version of Dave Grohl doing Band On The Run at the White House was quite excellent!
"Please don't bring your banjo back, I know where it's been.. I wasn't hardly gone a day, when it became the scene.. Banjos! Banjos! All the time, I can't forget that tune.. and if I ever see another banjo, I'm going out and buy a big balloon!"

^^ My favorite moment of the evening was Corinne Bailey Rae and Herbie Hancock doing “Blackbird .” I also liked Jack White’s segueway from “Mother Nature’s Son ” into “That Would Be Something .”

Another cover that’s not the best, but it’s my cover of “I Saw Her Standing There “…
I play Rhythm and Bass Guitar, with some Lead thrown in there at times.

For some odd reason I kind of like John Farnham’s slower version of Help .

I’ve always had a soft spot for Deep Purple’s version from their first album…

Came across this 1977 video of various singers of the day doing a medley of Beatles songs — Paul Williams, Anthony Newley, Tony Randall, Bernadette Peters, Mel Tillis, Diahann Carroll, and… the best for last, for the finale, at approximately 6:30, Ray Charles doing “Let It Be “. While the others are a tad schmaltzy, Ray Charles naturally lifts it to a higher level:

Is this supposed to be specific discussion on this video or general Beatles cover discussion? I’d imagine that this site would have a general covers thread, but I couldn’t find one after a few minutes of searching. I’ve been gone from this site a long time, so I don’t remember if we had one.
Anyhow, if my latter guess is correct, this is a pretty good song-by-song cover of the Meet The Beatles album:

Ooh… I could have real fun with this thread, then.
Go for it.
There could be another thread for Beatles covers but i couldn’t find it, i’d be surprised if there wasn’t to be honest. If there is a mod can always merge them together.

Good stuff so far. I love Johnny Cash’s version of In My Life … he had a lot of superb covers on American IV. Also Yoko + Siouxsie was great! I’ll toss in one of my favorite covers ever- The Breeders covering “Happiness Is A Warm Gun “

Slight break of rules here, but here’s a solo Beatle cover of a Beatles song. It’s Ringo, Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne, Joe Walsh, and Jim Keltner doing “I Call Your Name .” Ringo’s voice suits the song really well.
Another slight rule break, but here’s the Foo Fighters doing a Paul & Wings song.
Just so I actually follow the rules at least once in this post, here’s one more: The Jimi Hendrix version of Sgt. Pepper ‘s Lonely Hearts Club Band

A storming version of Day Tripper recorded for BBC Radio One’s Top Gear on 15 December 1967. For many years it was rumoured that John provided the backing vocal. He doesn’t. Easily one of the greatest covers of a Beatles song ever. Easily in my Top 5.

Nice one, mja! There might be better versions of this but here’s a really mellow jam-ful version of Dear Prudence by the Jerry Garcia band…
