recently, new edition of xfactor started in Poland and here’s what was happening at the time. the tittle above says: amazing Anna and a tale about becoming a star… (and it really is for me). http://xfactor.tvn.pl/wideo/1,…..564.html I think Paul’d be impressed.

Thought she was quite impressive. But whats with all the warbling talent show contestants feel they have to do at the end of songlines, the Mariah effect? Doesnt add anything to their singing.
One country had a John Lennon x-factor special and i think the song was Jealous Guy . The male contestant took what seemed like 5 minutes to deliver each line due to warbling “i didnt mmmmmeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaannnnnnnn tooooooOOOOOOOOOOoooo
hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyooooooooooooouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU”
Get on with it!!

I Want You (She’s So Heavy) by Last Shadow Puppets is pretty amazing.
Last Shadow Puppets is a duet made up of Alex Turner of Arctic Monkeys fame, and Miles Kane. They remind me of John and Paul in a lot of ways, actually. This video will kind of illustrate that, as well as being pretty much my favourite song ever:

But yeah, great cover, great band.

“Blackbird ” is one of my favorite song, Beatles or otherwise, ever. I thought you folks might be interested in Sarah Darling’s version of the classic which you can see here:

This is more strange than best but its not bad – its that well known band Slade (i suppose they would be classified as Glam) doing Martha My Dear in 1969. Not a song you would think Slade would cover.

I hadnt before and wish i never had. There are tracks on youtube like their ‘cover’ of We Can Work It Out. A chicken clucking Johns part! Dear me. Might still beat some of those awful x-factor covers, Will Young and Gareth Gates do The Long And Winding Road (was that X-factor or Pop Idol (is there much difference)).
Siouxsie And The Banshees did a different version of Helter Skelter which was ‘interesting’ (the same people who covered Dear Prudence and got a top ten hit)

I quite like Joe Cocker’s version of ‘She Came In Through The Bathroom Window ‘. Not as good as the original, of course, but a good alternative.
– Sorry I can’t upload a video of it, I don’t know how to. I’ve only just hacked uploading photos. (Yes, I know, suprising for a teenager.)

I enjoyed a lot of the film “Across The Universe “. In my opinion Joe Cocker does a great version of “Come Together ” in three different roles during the song in that movie.
Jim Carrey´s version of “I Am The Walrus ” on George Martin´s “In My Life ” is GOOD.

This week I listen to Cilla Black’s Through the Years album. and I found another good cover of Beatles songs. A standard cover of Here,There and Everywhere.
(I have a question too. Is the first track of album, Through the Years a tribute to John Lennon ?)

No, it was a celebration of her 50 years in music. The video, during the verse you’re thinking of, does show a picture of The Beatles, which then zooms into John during the “All You Need Is Love ” mention. However, throughout the video are scattered various images of people from John Wayne to Martin Luther King, from JFK to Ronald Reagan.
