@Joe, have you thought about putting the link to your blog pages on some of the forum threads for topics like this (like you did for the songs)?
From the history section
https://www.beatlesbible.com/1…..-building/
If we think of relevant ones we could PM them to you.
Just something to consider. I know it would be lots of work on your part so I’m not sure if you feel like taking on the project.

Did John and Ringo not wear coats to 3 Savile Row that day? Why did they have to borrow coats?

The fun bit for me is when the poor dogsbody (does anyone know who it is? Richard DiLello perhaps?) has to hold a lyrics sheet up for John for Dig A Pony and George grins wickedly and kneels down next to him in mock adoration and John strikes a pose
I'm like Necko only I'm a bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin and also everyone. Or is everyone me? Now I'm a confused bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin everyone who is definitely not @Joe. This has been true for 2016 & 2017 but I may have to get more specific in the future.

You will enjoy this Thread, @ewe2. The bloke holding the sheets, Kevin Harrington, actually logged into the Forum (as “kneeler”), and had a bit of conversation about that day.

ewe2I say in speeches that a plausible mission of artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit. I am then asked if I know of any artists who pulled that off. I reply, 'The Beatles did'.

Fantastic, thanks for that, another mystery solved, what a nice guy too. I assume some of you have read DiLello’s book The Longest Cocktail Party? I used to have a copy but it fell apart. Some amazing tales in it. He had big hair too which is why I wasn’t sure who it was.

Fabulous snippet of conversation in the Apple reception during the concert where a guy asks “aren’t the studios soundproofed or something” to which the receptionist resplies “its on the roof” in a helpless exasperated ‘what can we do?’ tone.

I went and bought another copy, it has the best list of things they spent money in one month just in the press office.

I watched Let It Be yesterday, coincidentally. Does anyone know who the person is setting up the gear with Mal during the opening titles?
@Ahhh Girl Good idea about linking history items to forum posts. Feel free to send me PMs if you come across any suitable candidates.

How many did you already know?
I never thought about this idea when thinking about the Let It Be album cover
The black-trimmed cover gave it funereal quality,

Sorry – not convinced – there is more black on the “With The Beatles ” cover and it’s not funereal.

That the cover is quite funereal is not a new idea. It’s actually been quite a common and widespread view of the cover since it was released.
Here is @Joe’s description of the cover in his article on the album:
Let It Be , when it eventually emerged, featured portraits of each of The Beatles, taken during the recording sessions, separated by thick black bars. The meaning was clear: the group was no longer together. They were not even named on the cover, and the words Let It Be starkly underlined that it was the group’s epitaph.

The idea of the cover being funereal may have been stimulated by the NME’s review of ‘Let It Be ‘ where Alan Smith wrote
“If the new Beatles soundtrack is to be their last then it will stand as a cheapskate epitaph, a cardboard tombstone, a sad and tatty end to a musical fusion which wiped clean and drew again the face of pop.”

I haven’t been able to watch the full version and was so happy to. This should be played on TV with a documentary. Of course, it isn’t publicized or “professional” enough, but it’s such a momentous event in history. Imagine something so casual and yet moving; what the Beatles always manage to achieve. I love watching the little people down in the streets stop their daily lives to come together and listen to them. (I can picture a less reserved reaction in America.) It’s so symbolic and a great history lesson.
The funniest parts are when they express themselves: John’s random yodeling, mess-up on lyrics, Ringo smoking in the middle of the concert, Paul’s dancing, George and John randomly turned around in second “Get Back ” (why?). This is coming from someone who’s been taught to perform with hands to their sides, and I would love to be able to experience this kind of ease.
Who wore their wife’s jacket better: John or George?

If you watch again, @KaleidoscopeMusic, you’ll see Mal switch off John and George’s amps just before on police instructions. You’ll see George turn his amp back on, and then check he’s getting sound before joining in fully with Get Back , with John following suit. They turn around because their instruments have gone dead, and their instruments have gone dead because Mal’s been told to turn off the amps by the police.
