We had two very similar threads on this theme. I am bringing them together here.
Thread one was titled “Were The Beatles at #1 on the day you were born?” Posts 2-54 made up that thread. In the thread, Joe talks about building his history section. The website in post 2 is still currently active.
Thread two was titled “Beatles songs that were recorded on your birthday”. Posts 55-122 made up that thread. The topic expanded beyond just what they recorded on a particular date to include other Beatles events that happened on that date.

Doing the search on the right side of the page, I found that on the day I was born:
The Beatles appeared at the Hippodrome Theatre in Brighton with The Fourmost and the Shubdubs (whose drummer, Jimmy Nicol, would later fill in for an ill Ringo Starr on The Beatles' world tour). Also in the US The Ed Sullivan Show re-broadcast The Beatles' first live television appearance on the Sullivan show (from February 9). On the way to tonight's gig George Harrison was involved in a minor crash in his brand new E-Type Jaguar in Kings Road, Fulham, London. Passing pedestrians collected bits of broken glass as souvenirs.

Offline Oh, that's great. I'm glad you found out such detailed stuff about your birth date.
In time I'm aiming to cover every day I have information for (quite a bit of this stuff is documented, it's just a matter of time getting it all together), from the 1940s to the present day. At the moment I'm just doing key dates – I'm up to March 1969, with John and Yoko's honeymoon, bed-in etc.
It's taking quite a while, but the more minor dates should be quicker to do. When it's all complete I have some ideas for 'on this day' features.

Offline Born 10 weeks after “All You Need Is Love ” hit #1, and six weeks before “Hello Goodbye ” did the same. Which makes the Canadian chart topper on the date of my birth “Incense and Peppermints” by Strawberry Alarm Clock (who allegedly took their name from a certain Beatles track!)

Looks like I'm one of the old geezers on this forum. But it was interesting to learn a few musical facts about the day I was born (June 26, 1955), such as:
“Elvis Presley (Scotty Moore and Bill Black) played the first of three nights at the Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi. The local paper ran a preview which read; 'A good looking youngster who has become a juke-box favorite with his That's Alright, Mama, and Blue Moon of Kentucky.?Presley is expected to repeat some of his hit tunes at the Airmen's Club show in addition to mixing up a few country tunes with some 'bop' and novelty numbers.'”
Hmm…Elvis played bop? Wonder what Bird and Diz would say about that assessment…
I also learned at http://www.joshhosler.biz/Numb…..tMonth.htm that Perez Predo's “Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White” was the #1 song on the day I was born. The Beatles never had a #1 song on my birthday, although “World Without Love” by Peter and Gordon was at the top of the charts on 6/26/64.

Offline I only know that Elvis was at #1 in the UK,(possibly in the US, also) on the day I was born with, One Night!
Also, Elvis was at #1 in the UK, on the day my ex-wife was born, with 'Wonder of You.'

Offline Only in Australia with a double a-side of Nowhere Man / Norwegian Wood . I was unaware of this until just now, but I've always been strangely proud of the fact that I was born bang in the middle of the Revolver sessions. They don't actually seem to have been in the studio on the day itself, but on the days either side they recorded Rain . Yes I know it wasn't actually on the album, but you know what I mean!

Offline Ergh, being born in 1992 is extremely boring- I missed everything!
I'm somewhat proud of this fact though; the Beatles recorded Birthday on my birthday! When I found out I think I freaked out a bit haha, I'm convinced it's fate!

Offline I know it's not quite the same, but as a 16 year-old in 1982 the hype around the 20th anniversary of the release of Love Me Do was pretty exciting, what with the glossy souvenir magazines and everything. It couldn't possibly have compared to being around at the time in the 60s of course, but it was the closest that fans of my age could get. And it was a real thrill to see the boys actually slugging it out in the higher reaches of the charts for the first time.

We share the same birthday but this was my 5th birthday. Why didn't my mum and dad get me tickets for Elton John instead of Ker Plunk?
Absolutely nothing happened on my birthday according to that website. I checked another one and The Archies were number one with Sugar Sugar (Good god no!) but then again it could have been worse. Had i been born 3 weeks later it would have been Two Little Boys by Rolf Harris! In the US, Come Together / Something went to number one the day after i was born so thats pretty cool.

US: The Letter – The Box Tops
AU: The Last Waltz – Engelbert Humperdinck
OK, not so great except for “The Letter.” Good song. And one of the shortest #1s of all time.
However, a year later, “Hey Jude ” was parked at #1 both in the US and AU but the UK favored Mary Hopkin's “Those Were The Days.” In 1965 “Yesterday ” was #1 in the US. Other than that, October is not a very Beatle-y month.
