The whole concept is interesting but obviously fake, however it's a nice idea to think that in an alternate universe ,The Beatles are still making music.
I agree.
I've made a playlist with songs for my imaginary album “Imagine ” (released in late 1970/early 1971 in an paralel universe):
- Imagine (John)
- Child Of Nature (earlier version of I'm a Jealous Guy – John)
- My Sweet Lord (George)
- Junk (Paul)
- Gimme Some Truth (John)
- Working Class Heo (John)
- Teddy Boy (Paul
- Isn't It a Pity (George)
- Every Night (Paul)
- Instant Karma ! (John)
- Maybe I'm Amazed (Paul)
- All Things Must Pass (George)
Sont des mots qui vont très bien ensemble.

Just had another listen to this album. Four Guys is fairly good, but the “long time ago when we was Band On The Run ” bit doesn't work.
What is Talking To Myself composed of? I recognise Admiral Halsey , but bizarrely not the John or George songs- I'm guessing John's is from Walls And Bridges ?
Days Like These, Over The Ocean, I'm Just Sitting Here and Sick To Death were let down by the backing tracks, which don't fit at all.
Actually, I quite like it. It is mesmerising, and one of the most ambitious sounding “Beatles” albums. Whilst it doesn't make sense (how has John written a segment of Nobody Told Me?) and the mashups aren't always smooth, I wish they had released something like this album.
I told her I didn’t

That would surely make for an incredible album, has anyone here read the Fixing A Hole series? it`s about some imaginary beatles albums and tour that happened between 1970-2008, it’ about 14 chapters.
Here is the first entry in the series

The intresting part is that most of the time i checked back a new chapter was added, but now it’s finished.
John, Paul, George and Ringo= The Beatles

Conceptually, musically, artistically a resounding… failure. As I type this, I realise why they broke up. They couldn’t work together. Or, as this shows, neither do their songs. I meant to type this when I listened to it in May, and it is aggravating. (Oh, and any attempts to create a 1970/1971 album need to take into consideration that songs were inspired by the break up. Therefor those songs can’t be on a Beatles album.)

And none of I Me Mine 's selection were songs inspired by the break up. None of John's primal songs (except possibly Working Class Hero ), no Too Many People , no Wah-Wah .

Hard to say what songs would NOT have been written without the breakup.
Certainly “How do you sleep?”
“Too many people” would have had different lyrics.
Imagining the next Beatle album is nearly irresistible.
My book is a serious history book, but a couple of pages from the end I can't help but “imagine” the next album. My list is similar to I Me Mine 's above, but I think you have to throw in a Ringo song:
Side 1: Maybe I'm Amazed, Imagine , My Sweet Lord , Every Night , Jealous Guy /Child Of Nature , Junk.
Side 2: All Things Must Pass , Give Me Some Truth, You're Sixteen, Uncle Albert /Admiral Halsey , Another Day , Instant Karma .
Or maybe a double album?
In any case, you could argue that it would have been up there with their best.

But would have John allowed the Abbey Road medley miniature (Uncle Albert /AdmiralHalsey)? Would they take another look at All Things Must Pass ? Would George have allowed 2 songs only? How would My Sweet Lord have fit, seeing as how he wrote it while with Delaney and Bonnie? Would something like Every Night get past the test of George Martin? The answer to all of these is no. So any attempt, if you want some background to the attempt, is wasting your time. Just like typing this was for me: a time waster.

I’ve just read Fixing A Hole and it’s very good at least in the beginning, after the Band On The Run beatles album i prefer the released mccartney albums (with the exception fab). I prefer Fixing A Hole to everyone, and the compilations of the albums are very good, Join The Human Race is awesome

The remixes are good and the story reminds me of the “Paul McCartney is really dead” movie. Are they the same people?

Ignoring the actual point of this thread (if you believe the back story you are a real idiot) i think this thread contains Skye’s first post – of interest as she is still one of the top 10 posters of the forum.

Personally I think the tracks are decent remixes of the Beatles’s solo stuff. I have the album on my iPod. However, the story I don’t buy. I actually tried emailing the guy about 8 months ago and I never got a response.

I don’t think that anybody does. I suspect that the person behind this isn’t expecting to be taken seriously and the story is more-or-less a joke.

You’re giving it too much thought. It takes place in an alternate universe where literally anything could be different (like the purple ketchup). The fact that the guy he meets isn’t really a Beatles fan, and he only has 2 of the albums that they wrote in our universe, we don’t get that much information about the specifics of the Beatles, or music in general in the universe. Maybe all music sounds like the remixes, and the personalities and opinions of the people there are different than they are here. With so many factors, it’s almost impossible to judge all the hypotheticals and how accurate or inaccurate this story is, or would be if it was real.

I agree. It most likely was just a ploy to get people to check out his fire Beatles mixtape

What do you get when you mix When We Was Fab and Band On The Run together? Noise. I’m sorry, but I couldn’t even make it through the first song. To much of a cacophony for my taste.
