I thought I’d end the year with a question From Me To You so we can come together one last time and decide which one of these websites are better, David Rybaczewski’s beatlesebooks or Joe’s The Beatles Bible. For this contest, I will mainly be considering their specific song pages and home menus, as beatlesebooks lacks a forum and detailed session page. Let’s begin:
Round 1:
Detailed history of each song:
The Beatles Bible shows the songwriter, recording dates, producer, engineer, UK and US release dates, instrumentation, albums available on, how the song was written, in the studio, and comment section, while beatlesebooks shows an introduction, songwriting history, recording history, a link to a website with an audio recording about the song, song structure and style, American releases, live performances, and a detailed song summary, including song written, song recorded, first US release date, first US album release, US single release, highest chart position, UK album release, length, key, producers, engineers, and instrumentation.
It’s a close one, but because of the fact that (with the exception of A Day In The Life ) everything from beatlesebooks stays on one page and they have pictures, i’m giving the prize to beatlesebooks.
Round 2:
Menus:
Both menus are great, but while beatlesebooks only gives you the option to view a garbled up version of the US discography, Joe lets you view multiple discographies, including the US, Canada, Germany, Japan, and my favorite, the original “way The Beatles intended it” UK discography.
The winner here is The Beatles Bible.
Round 3:
Accuracy:
For the most part, both of these sites are correct. However, there are a fair share of absurd claims for both site. beatlesebooks claims that George played bass on Rock And Roll Music and that Paul played guitar on She’s A Woman , while The Beatles Bible claims that Paul played guitar in Oh! Darling and that John doesn’t play guitar on Paperback Writer .
I think these sites are both great, especially considering that if you recommend a change, there’s a chance that they’ll change it, but since beatlesebooks lists the specific guitars used per song with a rate of at least 95% accuracy, he wins this round.
What do you think.

I won’t be voting, and find that you’d use the forum Joe provides to encourage Forumpublians to tell Joe that another site is preferred is offensive, in my opinion.
Joe’s is the premier Beatles website, not up for debate, no need for a poll.

To be fair and honest, it was very close and if I counted the forums against Dave, The Beatles Bible would’ve won by a landslide, but you got to like the pictures beatlesebooks has and don’t forget, the specific guitars used. Also, because of your refusal to vote, you’re letting the person who you want to lose win.

Design wise, Beatles bible looks better than the beatlesebooks

I think it is alright to look at other Beatles sites and compare, that way Joe can take the good stuff from them if he wants to and create an even better Beatles sites.
Though having this on the Beatles Bible forum will lead to bias for this site.

There isn’t a competition. I’m a Beatles Bible girl, hands down. I’d been coming here FIRST long before I started posting to the forum last year.

It is a competition since if more people go to another site, Joe gets less ad money.

Maybe just adding suggestions to the thread that begins with this post https://www.beatlesbible.com/f…..rum/#p5841 might be a better way to go.
I haven’t visited the other site and don’t plan to do so soon (too busy) so I can’t really vote. I know Joe is working hard on this site so it will be getting better all the time. I’m very happy here.

I vote Beatles Bible, purely for the forum, which is what I spend most of my time on the site using.

I know it’s your opinion Billy, but I was hoping no one would use this forum against beatlesebooks, as he doesn’t have a forum and I don’t even know if his site would allow it.
I’d like to add that the forum is many times a good source of information. On top of that, threads such as the misc. question threads allow people to ask questions about the Beatles.

Why does it need to be a competition?
So my answer is – who cares. Use one, use both, use neither. Go indoors, hide under the sofa and lick tofu all night if you want.

Absolutely, I sure wish Dave of beatlesebooks could join this forum, I bet he’d be a great guy to have here.

This isn’t a competition, I was just wondering who would win.

If it isn’t a competition then why does there have to be a winner?

But who. If I did, then he may decline. I think Joe should ask him or someone who’s more professional than me, maybe meanmistermustard would know who.
If we close our eyes, say nothing, cross our fingers and wish really really hard maybe the vibes of our souls will float thru the air to him.
