Just got it! I’m waiting till I’m alone in the house to put it on. Ever since they came out with Paperback Writer / Rain , I’ve found it wise not to play the latest record when it can be overheard. Besides, I don’t want any interruptions!
ARRRGH I’M SO EXCITED

Will be fun to see how many of the people on the cover folk can name.

The only ones I’m sure I can name (aside from our lovely lads in those AMAZING outfits, and those wax impostors) are Bob Dylan, Elvis Presley, Tony Curtis, Marilyn Monroe and Laurel & Hardy. I know the old comedian with the straw hat and the big nose but can’t remember his name. Also can’t remember the “Lawrence of Arabia” guy’s full name. And I’m guessing the boxer is Cassius Clay? (Or whatever he changed his name to…I hate boxing!)

It doesn’t come out till tomorrow for US in the states! I’m super pumped for it’s release. It will be nice to have one more Beatles album before I head off on my mission in August.

Ooh… those ungodly Beatles @William Shears Campbell, this is old news, but what did you make of the whole ‘bigger than Jesus’ fiasco last year? I personally thought it was a fuss made over nothing.
Back to the new album… I’ve heard it three times. Twice by myself, flipping it over to listen to it again as soon as I was quite sure it had finished — one listen was simply not enough to absorb the thing — and once with my cousin and her boyfriend. She offered me a drag of something which I am fairly certain my parents would not have approved of, had they known; I staunchly refused to take it myself, but I daresay the fumes may have gotten into my system anyway, because that third listen was the most vividly technicoloured listening experience I’ve ever had. Or perhaps I was just hearing details that I had missed on the first two listens, as commonly happens; who knows?
Anyway, I think it’s safe to say that the Fabbest Foursome have outdone themselves yet again, which, after the amazing piece of vinyl that was Revolver , I had not thought possible. With this latest album, it is conclusive that they have gone off the rails, into the weeds, and found a garden magnificent beyond our previous imagining.

Darn it! I have to wait until at least tomorrow to get the album and I’m so frustrated that people have already heard it!
And yeah, that cover is really… interesting. I had to do a double-take.

I was a taken aback when I first heard it, but then I understood what he meant after he apologized. He wasn’t really knocking Christianity, but rather commenting on how The Beatles were becoming one of the most popular things of the day.

You also get all the lyrics on the back cover!! Is that a first, can’t think of anyone including the lyrics to all their new songs.

Finally, I had an opportunity to get a copy of the new Beatles record myself! Since my parents had burst into my room while John sang about turning of one’s mind and floating downstream I have to buy all Beatles records secretly – it cost me a fortune to replace every album from Please Please Me to Revolver they had taken away from me.
But as I held the new album in my hands I realised it’s got nothing to do with all the Beatles had done before, anyway. Wait , is this even a Beatles record or will they be a lonely hearts club band from now on? After Strawberry Fields, I had thought that nothing in this world could surprise me anymore; but now that I’ve watched the album cover for hours on end I am quite sure that it will be even more mysterious than Strawberry Fields. How can this even be possible?
When will my parents finally leave the house to go to the theatre so that I can put the record on the needle? I can’t hold myself back much longer!

Really, you’re parents don’t allow you to listen to The Beatles, is there anything else that they don’t let you watch or listen to, maybe SpongeBob or heavy metal. My parents don’t mind me listening to The Beatles and my father is a devout protestant who follows the Holy Bible word for word and is homophobic and the Catholic church my father’s Aunt works at has Introducing The Beatles in one of the Sunday school rooms.
That really sucks for you, especially considering that John was talking about relaxing and meditation, not drugs. Your parents must be super strict and not let you watch or listen to anything. At least you’re replacing these records and listening to The Beatles anyways. Also, if I were you, I’d use incognito mode and regularly flush your DNS, tell me your browser and OS in the Incredibly Impossible To Derail This Thread thread and I will give you a step by step guide on how.

Here it is 1967, 2 June 1967. What is a SpongeBob? I suppose heavy metal would be something like iron or lead. Is a DNS a new fangled toilet? Have no idea what an OS is? Is a browser like a window shopper?
It’s 1967! Where do your strange words come from?

Oh my this sure is a spiffing record old chums, I enjoy playing it on the ole gramophone after milking the cows. I say, my favourite track would have to be ‘A Day In The Life ‘, it is a rather brisk and exciting track. I wonder who sings the ‘Aaahs’ is it the McCartney fellow or the Lennon chap?

Yes @Dark Overlord, my parents are both faithful Catholics (me too) and very strict! I’m not quite sure what ‘Sponge Bob’ and heavy metal is, must be something that’s not available in Germany, but if it was, I would probably not be allowed to listen to it too.
But, I have been able to listen to Sgt Pepper ‘s now as I’m alone at home. I have taken some incense from my father’s room and burned it in my room, then I lit some candles and put the record on the needle.
My head is still swirling, I feel like having seen colours for the first time, that was not only music anymore – there is a soul captured in the record that wants to break free! You can’t only hear normal instruments, there are also so many noises: animals, shackles, groaning… And then the ending of the album! I don’t want to give away too much but my head was blasted off twice, once I already half expected it and the second time I just wanted to take the needle of when there was yet another surprise to come!
Maybe, it’s also due to the large amount of incense that has clouded my thoughts but especially near the album’s end I felt like there was a crowd of people in my room – there were all these images flashing up before my eye! Now, I feel a bit eerie alone in the silent house; I’ll better listen to SgtPepper’s again as I didn’t fully understand it anyway. How could I ever think nothing could surprise me anymore? How can these be the same four Liverpudlians that were singing love songs while shaking their moptops back then when I’d just entered highschool?

Sorry about that, ignore my first post, I didn’t realize that this was a joke thread, I must’ve taken too much LSD last night.
That’s weird, my parents are devout Catholics as well and are fine with me listening to The Beatles, I got a copy of the new Beatles album today, it’s their best yet, even better than Revolver . Also, Please Please Me is a single, not an album, their albums are Introducing The Beatles, Meet The Beatles, The Beatles Second Album, Something New, The Beatles Story, Beatles 65′, Beatles VI, Help !, Rubber Soul , Yesterday And Today, Revolver , and Sgt. Pepper ‘s Lonely Hearts Club Band.
