You guys are lucky to be getting all that info. I’m 13 years old living in New York, and in school no one’s talking about any new Beatles material.

I missed the announcement that they were never going to tour again. Bummer. Means I’ll never see them. Maybe they’ve run out of gas.

It’s been a while since they’ve released anything, but there’s so much other good stuff!!! Simon and Garfunkel, Lovin’ Spoonful, Mamas and Papas, John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers (cool guitarist Eric Clapton)… Not thinking much about the Beatles

There has been no announcement. They’ll probably get back out towards the end of the year as artists need to tour for the fans to see them. A hard time in the US has irked them for now but it will pass.

BUT ANYWAYS, IF THESE TWO NEW SONGS ARE ANYTHING LIKE THE SONGS OFF REVOLVER, I KNOW THEY’LL BE HELLA ROCKIN.

Hella was coined in the 80’s. You’re breaking character.

Yeah, but I made up for it by using the word “lovely” which is an old person word.

Sorry, not following politics. Haven’t heard my parents say anything about a guy in California.

I’m thinking about going to San Francisco, California, with some friends this summer. I’ve heard rumors that some groovy stuff will be happening out there.

You guys were right. Heard “Penny Lane ” on the radio for the first time today and went out to buy it. It may be the most beautiful song I’ve ever heard. Staying at my grandparents this week – thank God they have a little record player.

^Are your grandparents cool with you listening to The Beatles and the other groups that a popular now, @Into the Sky with Diamonds?

Both songs are awesome. I want to sway while listening to Penny Lane . I wish we could do a group sway to it. Strawberry Fields Forever makes me want to flop down on my bed and stare at the ceiling. It makes my mind swirl.

Do you think it is ironic that Paul sings about a barber showing photographs since The Beatles are often asked if they are ever going to get haircuts? Is Paul singing that the banker wears a mac? What is a mac? Oh, and what on earth is a finger pie, or would I rather not know?

Okay, I heard Penny Lane on the radio today. I think I like these odd lyrics. They’re a bit funny. It’s an absolutely beautiful song though.

@Ahhh Girl Only listened to Strawberry FF once; sounds like a strange dream. Will check it out again. My grandparents don’t care. They’re not very musical and they’re mostly amused. I don’t even know why they had this record player in their closet, but hey, I’m not complaining. I didn’t have to bring mine from home.

Strawberry Fields Forever came on the radio today, which is an amazing song and quickly becoming my favorite. My father asked me what kind of drugs I was doing to enjoy listening to that “hooligan-music” as he calls it…sigh…he just doesn’t understand me!!!!

Glad you have cool grandparents, @Into the Sky with Diamonds.

Yeah, that “dreamy” sound of Strawberry Fields Forever is what makes me feel like sprawling across my bed and looking at the ceiling while listening.

I still haven’t heard either one! 🙁  And I’ve been listening to both my local radio station and the hit station in Detroit about an hour’s drive south.

Paul: Yeah well… first of all, we’re bringing out a ‘Stamp Out Detroit’ campaign.

Two days until release here! Also, I’m still stunned by how much they’ve changed their appearance since I bought the latest Beatles Book Monthly. Anyone else miss the mop tops?

Yikes, I didn’t keep quiet like I said I would. It’s just so hard to not go on-and-on about The Beatles!

I still haven’t heard that strawberry one on the radio yet. I guess I’ll hear it when I go to get it on Friday. (That is if they still have it.)

Well I listened to Strawberry FF again. If Penny Lane is the most beautiful song I’ve ever heard, Strawberry FF is the most interesting. (Maybe Tomorrow Never Knows was more interesting, but I didn’t care for it.) The lyrics are intriguing and draw you in as does the dreamy melody; but it’s a sleepy song and it pulls me down. Penny Lane lifts me up.
