I promised my parents that Beatles VI would be my last Beatles purchase. ‘Coz yes, I do have a lot of Beatles’ stuff in my room… But now everyone in school says that the Help ! album is coming out next week. What to do?… (tough pickle for an 11 year old)

It’s a role-playing-game thread. We pretend it’s fifty years ago and that. So we don’t know all the history that hasn’t happened yet. If you read the first posts, you’ll see how it started with the Beatles in New York and The Ed Sullivan Show.
I love this thread.
Back to 1965!…
I saw the Beatles on Blackpool Night Out a few days ago; John’s hair was really fab. They played their latest record… one of my friends told me it’s the title song from the film.

Never make promises you know you won’t be able to keep.
I say you should purchase it. As I said above, I heard some of the songs on television, and they were incredible. As always.
By the way, what is Beatles VI? Is that sort of like Beatles For Sale ?

Ahhhhhh, I see. In that case, please pardon the intrusion. Just consider me a schmuck in a time machine with a bumper sticker that reads “Spoiler Alert!”.

It was their Christmas LP. I only just got it a couple months ago, though– had to save up for it.
…Perhaps they call it something else in America?

Ah yes, my cousin in England sent me a picture of Beatles For Sale . Seems similar to Beatles ’65. But they look so serious! I like the Beatles ’65 cover.
Still having fun with Beatles VI. Who is L. Williams? Have been playing his Bad Boy and Dizzy Miss Lizzy non-stop. (I tease my 7 year old brother with Bad Boy , and just learning the guitar to Dizzy Miss Lizzy .)

Ah, you play too? I like to bash along to the record on my dad’s acoustic until someone comes in and asks me what all the racket is.
What does the Beatles ’65 cover look like? I think the Beatles For Sale cover is gear, even though they are looking serious. That thing that George did with his hair… George is so fab.

Is anyone else going to the concert tonight at Shea Stadium? There is a warm, fuzzy, wonderful buzz in the air among the crowds gathering around the stadium. I don’t know how I’m going to be able to sit through the opening bands. I can’t wait to see THE BEATLES!!!!!

The British group called The Beatles. The guys in the group are John, Paul, George, and Ringo. Have you heard them? If not, may I suggest you get one of their albums? They’re fab! And they are so adorable!

I can’t hear the music. The crowd is in pandemonium mode.
Ringo is bouncing around and shaking his head. 🙂
They each seem to have some little shiny object on their coat. I wonder what those are.

My ears are still ringing from the noise last night. It was madness all around. I have a feeling that this concert will be rememered and talked about for a long time.
I wonder if The Beatles enjoyed it?

I too had an amazing time at the concert! My father know someone at Capitol and got me and my best friend tickets in the lower deck. He wad miles away, but I’m pretty sure Paul looked right me during that “I’m Down “!!!!
The only bad thing about the night is that my pretty, brand new oxfords got ruined from all the, um – how can I put this in a ladylike way? I’m sorry, forgive me, there is no way. There was pee from other girls standing in the higher rows running down the aisles. And it got on the brand new shoes my mom bought me just for the concert! I tried to wipe them down in the bathroom later, but they’re a lost cause. My mom almost killed me. She thought I’d ruined them myself! Ugh, what’s wrong with some of these girls?! Are Beatlemaniacs all chronic bedwetters? I’ve never seen anything like it!
But it was worth it. I can replace the shoes. The Beatles are forever!!!!!

Oh my GOSH @parlance @Ahhh Girl , you are such a pair of lucky ducks! (Well, except for the pee – yuck!!) I’m positively green with envy and heartbreak – tonight they’re playing at Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto, barely an hour’s drive away from here, and I’m going to miss it. 🙁 🙁 🙁 It’s so unfair. My dad always gets tickets through his work to stupid hockey games there, but when it comes to the REAL entertainment…lotsa luck. (You’d think that none of his clients had teenage daughters.)
Oh well, guess I’ll just have to content myself with going to see “Help !” for a fifth time and dreaming. (Dreaming of shirtless George! )

@Ahhh Girl, @parlance, that sounds incredible!!!! I’m sorry about your shoes, parlance… though I’m sure you’d agree that a pair of shoes are worth seeing THE BEATLES!!!!!!!! I would have given almost ANYTHING to have been there (I say almost because I amn’t about to give up my Beatles records ).
God , I hope they come back to the UK soon. I want more than anything in the world to see them.
On another subject, is it too early to start hoping for a Christmas LP? I’m undecided whether I should spend my money on the Help ! LP now or save it for later… in case they put out another album.
