I did do this. (Write beatlesbible.com using my nail polish on the gates of Abbey Road studio)$#@&^% I wish I had seen the words “hate him” when I was painting on the gate. I would have painted over them. Oh, well, hopefully no one will try to associate the two messages.
RN and I went to see 7 Cavendish first so that we could walk to the studio on the same route Paul would have walked when he went there. Thanks for thinking of that, @Ron Nasty.
But I didn’t do this. (Carve BB into a stone at Stonehenge)
If I ever get to go back to Abbey Road , I found the best place to write BEATLES BIBLE so it can be seen on the Abbey Road crossing webcam.
I had forgotten that the Abbey Road webcam has sound too. It is rather empty there tonight. Darn coronavirus.

They are repainting the Abbey Road zebra crossing, because for once nobody is actually walking on it:
Posted over in the ‘Beatles News‘ thread by @The Hole Got Fixed.
Great that it’s been given a face life.
It’s bizarre at times that a zebra crossing is a place of national importance, even more so that the photoshoot took 10 minutes. I’m not arguing against, definitely should be.

Face life is an expression up here, it means bringing a renewed sense of life to your face but without all that surgery etc. I think it’s because facelift has some negative connotations.

Penny Lane posted this picture over in the Your favorite Beatles photos thread today. I started studying it very closely…again…for the umpteenth time.
And I wondered what the 25 on the lamppost stood for which lead me to look at the spot on Google maps…again…for the umpteenth time.
The lamppost has been replaced, concrete to metal. It now sports the number 40.
The other thing that jumped out at me is that the city has made the crosswalk accessible, the step-up curb has been replaced with the slope.
Does anyone know what the 25 and 40 are about?

I think they are just basically identifying numbers (25 then, 40 now).
So, for example, if the light goes out, the specific lamppost can be noted by its number as requiring a replacement bulb.
There is some info at the following webpage:

Duchess Sophie of Edinburgh had a fun time on the Abbey Road crossing
Before going into Abbey Road Studios “for an Orbis Visionaries Reception – in her role as Global Ambassador for the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness.”

It’s great fun to do, I did it when in London (forget when, maybe July 2022). Felt a mixture of many things; exciting and weird (in that of doing something the Beatles did decades ago (if the same spot or not) being two of the most notable. I think the lack of a museum up that way is a loss. So much scope for doing something special due to the tourists already being there for the crossing plus the history and legacy involved.
