Hello All,
I have read just about every book, watched every documentary, saw every movie, and visited every site that concerns the Beatles.
I have always been curious as to what happened to —- and who has —- Stu’s original Hofner President Bass guitar.
Would any of you have any ideas? I’m new to the forum and this is my first post, so I’m not really sure what I am doing. If it would be easier, please send me an email to mrbaddley@aol.com

The last that was heard of Stu’s Hofner President Bass was in 1986, when it was sold at Sotheby’s (with a note of authentication signed by Astrid Kircherr and Klaus Voorman). It was estimated at £10-15,000, but only reached it’s reserve of £9,500.
The buyer is unknown, and there is no known sale of it since.
Should/when it reappears for public sale, since Stu’s role is better appreciated now then it was then, and that it was also a bass used by Paul, it would likely be estimated at £200-300,000, and it would not be a surprise to see it smash through that.
