My bad, @Linde. @Bongo didn’t miss it in this thread. He made a new thread using this the song. I merged it into this thread. I should have posted a note about it. Sorry about that.

Maybe it’s just me, but I’ve heard Crying In The Chapel twice on radio today, and I noticed a couple of parts that reminded me of Don’t Let Me Down . I know John loved Elvis’ era before the early 60’s (when Chapel is from)…but old influences do have a tendency to lodge in the brain and come back to you later. Give it a listen and tell me what you reckon. If you think it’s hogwash I’ll take it on the chin!

I think this song by Billy Joel, from his album The Nylon Curtain, “Scandinavian Skies”, has a VERY late Beatles feel to it. Plus, the song was inspired by drugs. Heroin specifically, I believe. I hear bits of psychedelic-era Lennon and Harrison in it.
EDIT: Make sure you listen until around the 2:30 mark or so; that’s when it picks up and really sounds Beatlesque.
If you're lonely (or not!), you can talk to me. .....Hey! Are you a new member on this fine forum and don't know where to go to introduce yourself?
Well, you can do it here! Dig it?

I see what you mean. Melody wise, ‘Don’t Let Me Down ‘ almost seem like a slightly sped-up version of Elvis’ ‘Crying In The Chapel’

Posts 114, 116, and 117 were a separate thread titled “Don’t Let Me Down /Crying In The Chapel”. It dawned on me that the posts belong here with the other songs that sound Beatley. I hope @burnsybaby1987, @MrCleanMachine, and @Sugarplum fairy enjoy some of the other offerings in this thread.

I was reading all the threads to see if this was mentioned. But definitely sounds more like Macca & Wings, sort of like Uncle Albert /Admiral Halsey .

You can’t forget Klaatu, the band that sounded so Beatley that there was a mini-conspiracy that they really were the boys incognito.

I can’t believe I forgot this – the Scott Pilgrim soundtrack written by Beck. Most, if not all, the songs, are very Beatlesque. For instance, the scene in which Scott and Ramona kiss for the first time features a song with a very Something -like bassline.parlance
that song wasn’t written by Beck, it’s called ‘By Your Side’ and it’s by the Beachwood Sparks, but yes it sound very Beatlesque

super disappointed to not see a single mention of MGMT, my second favourite band.
Their second album, Congratulations, is a masterpiece for anyone who liked Pepper-era Beatles and Barrett-era Floyd, and anyone who likes ELO and post-punk music.
this song always reminded me, atleast lyrically, of ‘Good Morning Good Morning ‘
this is what Pepper would’ve sounded like had Barrett joined the Beatles

I love this song. It could totally be a Harrison track from the White Album / abbey rd era

I was going to ask @ADT the same question. So I clicked on quote on his post to make the inquiry. When I did that, I saw a url for a video. I copied and pasted it into another browser window on my phone. I got the message that the video couldn’t be played. I will check on my PC in a few minutes.
On my PC I get “The uploader has not made this video available in your country.” The video is from EMI Canada.
The song/artist = ‘You May Be Right’ by The Grapes of Wrath

Got it @Ahhh Girl, good sleuthing. Strange how the URL isn’t displayed in @ADT’s post however. Video is below for those its available to.
Thanks for that! I guess I got a little messed up when trying to post the song. Hopefully everyone can hear it. There is also an “american version” of the song on youtube what ever that means. It sounds the same.
Thanks again!

I think “byrds” were the biggest beatle-wanna-manics. Many of their songs just sound like Beatles from help – Rubber Soul era. Once my sister and I mistook them as Beatles
