Not sure this is exactly the right place. It’s a rewritten cover. Chumbawamba’s version of Her Majesty . It does sound Beatle-ish!

I’m putting together compilation of Beatles-inspired tracks. After some internet research, I’ve found a ton of great songs that clearly show a Beatles influence, but I noticed I’ve only found a few tracks by female artists. I know they’re out there, does anyone have any leads? I’m looking for songs by female artists or bands – or just songs with female vocalists – that are clearly Beatles-influenced. Any help would be much appreciated!

@shichimi
I moved your post here. Perhaps this thread will help you with your research and/or someone will have some more ideas for you.
Also, may I ask a favor? We have a very active poster who uses the avatar you have chosen. Would you consider changing yours? It will cut down on confusion as to which of you we are corresponding with.

Just heard the song ‘And We Danced’ by The Hooters that feature the lyrics:
She was a bebop baby on A Hard Day’s Night
She was hanging on Johnny, he was holding on tight
To the fountain of perpetual mirth, let it roll for all its worth. And all the children boogie.

Two words: Tame Impala.
Those two words are the tip-off I needed to merge the three threads we had going on this topic. Emily had already combined two of them or I would have had 4 to merge. See the first post in this thread for details.

I don’t know if shichimi is ever going to show up here again after his one-and-only post there a few weeks ago, but “Strawberry Road” and several other tracks on Sam Phillips’ “Martinis & Bikinis” (from 1994: my ABSOLUTE favourite album of the 1990s!) have a conscious, deliberate Beatley feel to them (plus she covers “Gimme Some Truth ” to close the album)
GEORGE: In fact, The Detroit Sound. JOHN: In fact, yes. GEORGE: In fact, yeah. Tamla-Motown artists are our favorites. The Miracles. JOHN: We like Marvin Gaye. GEORGE: The Impressions PAUL & GEORGE: Mary Wells. GEORGE: The Exciters. RINGO: Chuck Jackson. JOHN: To name but eighty.

Oh, and another thing – I haven’t listened to much Oasis but it seems like quite a few people on this site – and outside of it – think they copied the Beatles. Can someone explain how? (I’m not saying this maliciously, I’m genuinely interested)
There is me again. Sorry, coming off like an Oasis freak now I think, but really, if it was another band I would’ve replied as well.
At first I was asking myself the same question, and really, their songs don’t sound like the Beatles, well, most of them.
BUT.
Just go here and scroll down till you see Oasis:

A nod in 1969 to the Walrus — from Chicago’s first album (whose cover was a painted logo on a wooden sign), “South California Purples”.

I’ve become somewhat obsessed by AM by Arctic Monkeys recently. Most of the album is fairly rifftastic rock, but this is like a cross between Lady Stardust and The Beatles:
