Is there anything the DC5 did that was not Beatles-ish?
Unfortunately yes.

Well, it would sound Beatles-ish if the Beatles were really drunk and sounded like Dexy’s Midnight Runners.

pepperlandI say in speeches that a plausible mission of artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit. I am then asked if I know of any artists who pulled that off. I reply, 'The Beatles did'.

Of course The Hollies, Look Through Any Window. But Delaney & Bonnie (friends of George who inspired him to write My Sweet Lord ) had a song called Never Ending Song of Love (from Motel Shot album) which I swore was a Paul number a la I’ve Just Seen A Face . Look it up. See if you agree.

I love Delaney & Bonnie. And you are right about the similar style to ‘IJSAF’, albeit a tad slower.

This isn’t exactly a song that sounds Beatle-ish, but I couldn’t find a better thread. So, the intro of this song is taken from Wild Honey Pie , and it also sounds like Fixing A Hole .

OK, you need some direct XTC examples in this thread. XTC started out as artrock/punk and slowly morphed into a very Beatles-Kinks influenced pop band. Three albums stand out in this regard, English Settlement, Skylarking and Oranges and Lemons.
English Settlement was the first album made after the decision to stop live performance because of Andy Partridges crippling stage fright. It was the last for their drummer which is a great shame because he shone on this album. The production is a cross between Revolver /White Album and here is a nice example:
Do listen to the album if you can, it’s chock full of goodness!
Skylarking was produced by Todd Rundgren so you can imagine the Beatles crosstalk there. The production (particularly the reissue a few years ago) is just perfect. The UK and US versions were different (how Beatley is THAT) and it wasn’t until the reissue that the UK version recovered the classic Dear God single. But that’s not dripping with Beatlism as this cut, and lucky you, you get the song afterwards which I feel is inseparable, Ballet For A Rainy Day and 1000 Umbrellas. Turn your bass UP for this one:
Oranges and Lemons suffers a little from the White Album effect, and having the Dukes of Stratosphear project steal some of its thunder. You can have two from here, both appropriately epic, The Loving and Merely A Man:
What the hell, have What In The World from the Dukes, remastered. Blow your mind:

Now I'm a confused bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin everyone who is definitely not @Joe. This has been true for 2016 & 2017 but I may have to get more specific in the future.

That’s a nice tune @Evangeline but shame about the lyrics.
I would have assumed most people know Kula Shaker but maybe if you’re young and weren’t around in the 90’s you should check them out. They had a real leaning towards George’s eastern influences but also very Beatley.

This is not a widely know song and if you are outside the UK you are less likely to know it. Liza Radley which was a B side by The Jam. Written by Paul Weller at a time when he was very influenced by Revolver it has a definite lyrical feel of Eleanor Rigby about it.

Early BeeGees sound really Beatley.
Like this song;
It’s like a strange combination of Taxman and all the songs off of Rubber Soul .

Funny story: When Bee Gees released their first single, DJ’s on the radio would actually say it was a new song by a band starting with the B and people would think it was the Beatles. Barry Gibb himself has also admitted they were heavily inspired by them in the beginning.
