There were 22 #1 hits for combined solo Beatles vs. 27 Beatles #1 hits.
*George had the first and last, with My Sweet Lord in 1970 and Got My Mind Set On You in 1987, meaning it took them 17 years to make 22, vs the 7 years it took The Beatles to make 27.
George:
Give Me Love
Got My Mind Set On You
My Sweet Lord (2000)*
Paul(*only two are credited solely to him):
My Love
Silly Love Songs
With A Little Luck
Listen To What The Man Said
Coming Up (Live In Glasgow)*
Say Say Say
Ferry Cross The Mersey*
John (*posthumous):
Whatever Gets You Thru The Night
(Just Like) Starting Over*
Woman *
Imagine (re-release)*
Ringo

*Ferry Cross The Mersey by Gerry Marsden, Paul McCartney , Holly Johnson and The Christians was released in 1989, making it the most recent #1 hit, although it is a Gerry And The Pacemakers cover released to benefit the victims of the Hillsborough disaster. Got My Mind Set On You is also a cover, and both songs are legit Beatles solo releases, so I retract that statement. Paul has the most recent #1, and almost had another last year when his song with Rhianna and Kanye West FourFiveSeconds went to #3

Is this just from your awesome reservoir of Beatles knowledge, or did you find it on a website somewhere?

Is your list UK or US #1s, or a combination of both, @sir walter raleigh?
If it does include UK #1s, My Sweet Lord (2000) should be included as it reached #1 in 2002, following George’s death.

@Expert Textpert
Ringo’s I got from Billboard.com. For Paul and John, the Billboard.com listing is totally wrong and only features 2 for John and none for Paul, but through wikipedia I found that Paul had 11 and John had 4, so I just looked up what I knew as their most popular songs until I found 11 #1s. Some weren’t surprising, but It took me forever to find Pipes Of Peace and Listen To What The Man Said.
One downside of not being alive during that time is that I can’t use memory to recall what was popular. So to answer your question, I combined my reservoir of Beatles Knowledge with many different web pages, because I could not find one that had it all in one place. If I missed any more, I hope someone will correct me as Ron did.
@Ron Nasty I’m really not sure which are UK or US. I’ll add My Sweet Lord (2000) because that does qualify as a #1 hit.

That came out in 1989, which means that Got My Mind Set On You isn’t the last number one. Funny, because I’ve read that in so many places I never doubted the truth of it.

I’m going to make a chronological mix of this and listen to it.
Could you post the chronological list? I also want to make the album.

Yes, I’ll post it tonight. It’s easiest for me to put them in an iTunes playlist and sort by year (then check Wikipedia for month by month if the songs are the same year).

There are two other charity singles featuring to consider, @Expert Textpert @sir walter raleigh. Well, one to consider while the other is a definite. Both were UK #1s.
The first is 1987’s Let It Be released by Ferry Aid following the capsizing of the Roll-On/Roll-Off ferry MS Herald of Free Enterprise as it left Zeebrugge in Belgium. 193 passengers and crew were killed. A lot of the passengers were readers of The Sun who had taken advantage of an offer from the paper for cheap trips to the continent. The Sun organised this single in response (this was in the days before The Sun became The Scum for everyone who loves Liverpool):
Now, this is the one to consider. It was said at the time that Paul’s part was recorded and filmed independently by him at his studio in Rye. It was later admitted that he’d just taken his vocal from The Beatles original and added it to the Ferry Aid recording. So, solo Paul or Beatle Paul?
This one is a definite, and the most recent #1 to feature a Beatle. As with Ferry Cross the Mersey this was recorded in 2012 to raise money for the Hillsborough families, so they could continue their fight for justice. Released as The Justice Collective, Paul appear from 3:01 on:
It was the Christmas #1.

If he borrowed his original vocal, I categorize it as Beatle Paul. Although Free As A Bird only reached #2, it would count as Beatles not solo for John. I feel as though it shouldn’t count unless it is an original solo effort.

‘My Sweet Lord ‘ was the lead, the 2002 version was on the cd single as was the alternate ‘Let It Down ‘. No idea why it’s on the list, therefore.
