@NickCanadaCore I rather fancy something from the psychedelic period. How about Hey Bulldog ?

I think an animated video for Sgt Pepper /With A Little Help From My Friends would be a nice little idea.

Hey Bulldog is a good idea.
Good Day Sunshine uses lots of imagery in it too.

Do a music video for multiple songs and have them all link together, here’s an idea:
The Beatles Sgt. Pepper ‘s Lonely Hearts Club Band album
Make a music video for the entire album, I would recommend animating it but you can do as you please.
Here’s the plots for each song:
Sgt. Pepper ‘s Lonely Hearts Club Band
17 year old Billy decides to watch his favorite band play.
The video starts with him and his friends walking in and sitting down outside near the podium and then The Beatles start playing with this lineup:
Paul McCartney : Lead Vocals, Lead Guitar
John Lennon : Rhythm Guitar, Backing Vocals
George Harrison : Lead Guitar, Backing Vocals
Ringo Starr : Drums, Backing Vocals
as for what guitars to have them playing, Paul plays this guitar.
and you could have both John and George playing these guitars.
this song would mostly be just the band playing live, but for fun you could also show the crowd doing various things like drinking, eating popcorn, making out, singing along.
With A Little Help From My Friends
When the song starts, the concert ends and everyone leaves and we see Billy walking with his friends Lucy, Pepper, Pablo, and Rita and while they’re walking through town, they sing the song with Billy on lead and his friends on backing.
They find their hiding place in the woods and decide to do drugs (if they don’t allow this, replace it with have dinner) and they then proceed to slowly hallucinate throughout the song, with the hallucinations matching the lyrics, you can see The Beatles performing during the choruses, this time with John on acoustic guitar and vocals, Paul on Rickenbacker bass and vocals, George on Fender Strat and vocals, and Ringo on drums.
Intermission
His friends help bring him home and get him in his bed due to him being too stoned to do it himself.
We get to see Billy run through his normal day, the intro is him getting ready for school, then he’s on the bus for the 1st verse, going into the building for the 1st chorus, in homeroom for the 2nd verse, in history class learning about The Beatles for the 2nd chorus, in gym class for the bridge, at lunch with Lucy for the 3rd verse, in French class for the 3rd chorus with sont des mots qui vont tres bien ensemble on the chalkboard, on the bus for the 2nd bridge, and walking to his job for the outro.
Billy has a job fixing roofs and while he’s fixing Pepper’s roof, he’s thinking about things that sync up to the lyrics, as well as thinking about George playing the guitar solo and the best part is we get to see what he’s thinking.
Intermission
Billy walks home to his family.
Billy sees his mother crying telling him how his 18 year old sister had ran away from home.
Being For The Benefit Of Mr. Kite
After telling his mother bye, bye, he goes to his other job as a janitor at the circus. He likes to watch the show while he works, so you get to see all the people at the circus such as the lion tamers, the fire breathers, the sword swallowers, and the freaks, the clowns come in during the 2 solo sections, with one of the clowns playing a mandolin while balancing on a ball and balancing other stuff like The Cat In The Hat during the guitar solo.

Intermission
We see someone flip over the vinyl from side A to side B, he then proceeds to say “this is how we did it 50 years ago”.
After the show, Billy decides to smoke weed (or if that’s not allowed, eat candy) behind the tent and he hallucinates random things. Also, during the solo you get to see George playing the sitar and Ringo playing the bongos.
When I’m 64
His father finds him high as a kite and brings him home and on the way home, he sings this song. Right before the final verse, they make it home and the father hops on the piano while Billy grabs his Epiphone Casino.
All of a sudden, Rita comes at the door, Rita and Billy have a date together. The 14 year old Rita is the daughter of a traffic warden and a maid. Sync up the film with the lyrics, Paul is seen playing the piano solo while Billy and Rita are at the school dance. During the outro, Billy and Rita have “doodily” off screen (if this isn’t allowed, make it where it seems like they’re doing this but they’re actually doing something perfectly appropriate, like making a sandwich). Here are some ideas to show sex without showing anything inappropriate:
1. Have them do it under the covers, you will only see their faces but that’s fine.
2. Have them do it in the dark.
3. Have the camera angled at Pablo, who’s looking inside the peephole.
Billy wakes up in bed with Rita and gets up, goes home, goes to work fixing roofs, takes a walk around the block, has a beer and some lunch with his friends at a bar, then the solo comes in and Paul the busker decides to play the guitar solo on his Fender Esquire (the guitar shown in the picture above) which encourages Billy to give him a tip, he then goes home and watches TV, then him and Pablo proceed to look under Lucy’s dress, and the song ends with Billy and Pablo playfighting.
Sgt. Pepper ‘s Lonely Hearts Club Band (Reprise)
As soon as the song starts, Billy and Pablo abruptly stop play fighting and they watch The Beatles, who are performing the song on TV with John on rhythm guitar and vocals, Paul on Rickenbacker bass and vocals, and George on lead guitar and vocals (John and George both use their Epiphone Casinos for guitars), the view switches between The Beatles and Billy and his friends and at the end of the song, Billy and his friends cheer.
Everyone goes home and it is now just Billy, reading the paper during the 1st verse, imagining the person in the 2nd verse, watching TV in the 3rd verse, then the crazy part is him watching a scary movie. Then the bridge comes, and he does what the bridge says and then the Ahhh part is him sleeping and in the dream, he sees Paul singing it, for the final verse he reads the news and then for the final crazy part, he is in his bed feeling scared but then the final note comes and he falls asleep with his dreams being the locked groove.

Thank you for all the wonderful suggestions everyone. I have the course outlines by the way. (It does mention to work in a group, but I have permission to solo it).
It doesn’t mention anything about animating, although I am required to add some visual effects, so animating may be an option for VFX.A Day In The Life is really catching my ear right now. Its a good length of music and video for it to work well.
I’ll try to give an update on how it is.

Those rules suck, no weapons, drug or alcohol use, or foul language, there are at least a dozen G rated movies that break those rules. Oddly, you’re allowed to have sexual content in your film, as long as there is no sexual language, I guess showing genitals isn’t as bad as saying s**t or having a swordfight or drinking a beer. In all honesty though, I’m assuming sex is a hidden rule in that having sexual content in your film is bad and unheard of, it’s not even written but you will still get in trouble for it.
Looks like I am going to have to make some edits to my Sgt. Pepper screenplay. Also, since you implied that you weren’t animating, I am removing references to specific guitar models:

For an incentive to do so, if Nick decides to:
1. pick my setlist
and or
2. shoots his film using a vintage video camera (vintage meaning the camera was made no later than 1978) and either edits it by hand, using methods such as splicing, or not editing it at all. Also, there needs to be practical effects.
I will show you guys a picture of myself.

Option 2 sounds really expensive. Technically it could be done and fulfill the requirements but thematically, it could fit if they were doing Honey Pie .
No editing would not work with a project like this, it requires audio editing and foley artist work would be very hard to do live style with no post.

That’s a really cool project!
Since you have to create such a long movie you most probably have to use more than one song anyway unless you decide to do A Day In The Life which certainly would be a good choice. Otherwise, I think that the sequence Fixing A Hole , She’s Leaving Home and Being For The Benefit Of Mr Kite Would also work quite good. It’s 8’48” all together and Fixing A Hole has a lot of metaphors in it, She’s Leaving Home tells a whole story anyway. Being For The Benefit Of Mr Kite has plenty of visual imaginary too. You could also link these songs together easily. For example, in the end of FAH (
You could also link these songs together easily. For example, in the end of FAH (And stops my mind from wandering / Where it will go) you could show a visualisation of a thought which is leaving a house through a hole and is slowly transforming into a human and, voilà!, you’ve got a leaving teenager for SLH. At the end of SLH it is mentioned that the girl wanted to have fun so she’s visiting a circus with the man from the motor trade and you can continue with BFTBOMK. Only an idea, though…
Hope this was of any help and good luck with your project!
Not once does the diversity seem forced -- the genius of the record is how the vaudevillian "When I'm 64" seems like a logical extension of "Within You Without You" and how it provides a gateway to the chiming guitars of "Lovely Rita. - Stephen T. Erlewine on Sgt Pepper's

Actually, 5-10 minutes is very short for a movie when you think about it, about the length of one of the classic Looney Tunes or Tom And Jerry shorts. Although it varies from film to film, most movies are 90-140 minutes long and even your average YouTube video is about 15 minutes long and some of those people are just sitting there playing video games, take this guy for example who just sits there and complains about bad video games.
His videos are on average about 15 minutes long although it’s hard to say for sure because his videos got longer as he went on. Don’t copy this guy’s ideas though, his language makes a sailor’s mouth look cleaner than George’s Strat on Nowhere Man . Also, I can think of many songs that are longer than 10 minutes, here’s 5:
1. 2112, Rush, 2112, 1977, Progressive Rock, 20:34
2. In A Gadda Da Vida, Iron Butterfly, In A Gadda Da Vida, 1968, Psychedelic Rock, 17:05
3. Rime Of The Ancient Mariner, Iron Maiden, 1984, Heavy Metal, 13:45
4. Brighton Rock, Queen, Live Killers, 1979, 12:13
5. Mercyful Fate, Metallica, Garage Inc., 1998, 11:11
