Thought about doing this ages ago but never did: a thread for Beatles material (audio, video etc) which has surfaced which was either thought lost, previously unreleased (meaning neither bootlegged or officially) or even unknown. A number of pieces have surfaced over the last few years and posted on this forum so if i ever remember i’ll link them to here.
Incomplete silent footage of a long lost not seen for years Beatles appearance on ‘Top Of The Pops’ performing ‘Can’t Buy Me Love ‘ and ‘You Can’t Do That ‘ in 1964 has appeared on youtube reports Wogblog. Before folk get too excited its been filmed by someone watching it on their tv but is still unseen footage and so important and cool.
[x-posted to ‘Beatles News‘]
Edit: a video of the same clip but with the overdubbed sound is in the link below.

Revisiting a few pieces that have surfaced over the last couple of years which folk may have missed.
A demo of ‘A World Without Love’ by Paul was aired for the first time by Peter Asher in January 2013. [x-posted in ‘World Without Love – Paul demo?‘]
The complete undubbed Kansas City medley performed at the Cavern Club on the 5th September 1962 surfaced in July 2013. [x-posted in ‘Kansas City/Hey-Hey-Hey-Hey!”]
7 tracks from the Beatles concert at the Johanneshovs Isstadion in Stockhom on the 28th 1964 appeared online for the first time in July 2014, wogblog has more info. [x-posted in ‘Johanneshovs Isstadion July 28 1964 – New Unbooted Audio”]
And just because it was such a big deal, a nearly 11 minute take of ‘Revolution 1 ‘ descended from who knows where a good number of years ago and amazed us all; the last 7 minutes or so was trimmed off and became the foundations for ‘Revolution 9 ‘. If you haven’t heard it you should.

Long lost BBC performances of ‘Love Me Do ‘ (from ‘Side By Side’ broadcast on the 26th June 1963) and ‘Till There Was You ‘ (episode 13 of ‘Pop Go The Beatles’, aired 10th September 1963) were included on the bootleg release ‘The BBC Archive‘ which began circulating on the internet in January 2015. ‘Love Me Do ‘ is particularly of interest as it comes to an end rather than fading out.
Wogblog has details of the set.
And whilst typing of a BBC performance of ‘Love Me Do ‘, the 2013 iTunes release ‘The Beatles Bootleg Recording Sessions 1963‘ contained the complete performance of ‘Love Me Do ‘ from the 26th January 1963 edition of ‘Saturday Club’ which had previously cut off as the harmonica solo began on unofficial releases. ‘The Beatles Bootleg Recording Sessions 1963‘ also contains the undubbed (ie piano-less) studio version of ‘Money (That’s What I Want)’ which was previously unavailable anywhere.

Previously unbooted material from the Beatles BBC shows have begun to circulate online. These are
- The Marauders performances from ‘Pop Go The Beatles #14’ making this episode the most complete show of the 1963 series to be available to date.
- The complete 5th Anniversary ‘Saturday Club’ as broadcast on the 5th October 1963.
- Further false starts and breakdowns of ‘I Feel Fine ‘ and a cut-short overdub onto ‘She’s A Woman ‘ from the 17th November 1964 recording session of ‘Top Gear’.

Bwahaha!
I say in speeches that a plausible mission of artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit. I am then asked if I know of any artists who pulled that off. I reply, 'The Beatles did'.

They’re so bad that they’re funny (hilarious actually). Please don’t delete the post, a bit of kitsch is always good for the soul (it makes one laugh)

I wasnt being serious @Oudis. Tho it would be nice if the thread didnt become engulfed in random discussions and posts considering the thread theme. Its meant to be a reference point for new beatles material, there are a ton of places for covers.

The revised ‘Za Laut!‘ fan release contains more Beatles dialogue when on the stage in the Star Club back in December 1962 . Additionally the tracks are now in the correct order (as best as can be with all the information available) as well as being a major upgrade on all previous incarnations of the Star Club material.

Outtakes from the ‘Rain ‘ promo filmed at Chiswick House in May 1966.
1. Its f*****g amazing. 2. There are a few similarities with some of the shots in the ‘Strawberry Fields/Penny Lane ‘ promo’s.
And it begs the questions what the f**k are Apple doing not putting this kind of stuff out? How can they sit on material as good as this and not think “lets issue it officially”?
Note: the mix of ‘Rain ‘ featured here is also previously unreleased/unbooted.

I think it begs the question: Didn’t they improve the Apple management after its early financial debacle? Releasing new Beatles material will make quite a profit! I understand quality standards and gradual release but we Beatlemaniacs will buy up whatever they put out, as soon as they put it out. The longer they hold it the more likely it will find its way into our hands via the internet.

ZigAround the time of the 1963 Bootleg iTunes release I read a good comment which I can’t find now! It was by someone who had spoken to Jeff Jones, head of Apple, about unreleased Beatles material. Jeff, apparently, was quite taken aback that people would be the slightest bit interested in studio outtakes, alternate mixes, home demos etc. “What, you mean people actually want to buy that?” I wish I could find the comment (possible somewhere on Wogblog), but it does give an idea of how they underestimate the fans’ desire to hear every studio chair squeak and dropped drumstick. Unless it’s untrue, of course.
Part of Apple’s problem is also mainstream fans’ expectations. They don’t want to confuse casual fans. IMO it’s the same reason why McCartney plays it so safe in his live shows and albums – he keeps a lot of the creative stuff for soundchecks and Fireman albums because he knows it would dilute the brand and leave people disappointed if they were expecting top 40 music.

Apple would probably make more than a quick profit if they released all that crap.
I finally finished Sgt. Pepper 2! Watch it here. (Sorry if this is annoying advertizing...)

The issue is that to many Beatles fans its not crap. Many are blown away at the recent promos filled with previously unseen footage that have surfaced and are highly anticipating the next one to be uploaded (if there is one). The recent BBC and Star Club sets met with acclaim. All of this is what Apple could be doing and making money from.
Its not a difficult realisation to come to that there is a demand for the original promo films to come out complete. Such a release would do no harm to the Beatles status or legacy and make Apple money so why not? The Beatles had a huge hand in the development of music videos so why not utilise it and make the money Apple so obviously crave.
