Usually anomalies aren’t worth much, (if anything.) Most people would rather have the real record, not a misprint.
Most misprints are;
record cover printed upside down, wrong music pressed, or wrong label. (Among other mistakes.)
Also depends on the misprint.

In 1974 I arrived in the US from Germany, in Boise, Idaho of all places. My room mate had a copy of Sgt. Pepper and it was weird! Very weird! I was 20 at the time and had listened to the album since I was 17. The only thing I remember now is that at the end of Good Morning when the chicken talks right before they count into the reprise it stopped and George Harrison (his voice for sure) said, “I’m sorry” and then there was some guitar and talking and no counting at all and then the Sgt. Pepper reprise.
We have had several Sgt. Pepper parties since then and I tried to find the guy but no luck. In 2007 we played the entire album here in Cairo with a bunch of friends, some songs are on Youtube under my name.

Here’s an interesting puzzle. I’ve wanted ‘Please Please Me ‘ for a looong time now and recently – there it was in a box of LP’s given to me by someone who is moving to a smaller home and downsizing. It’s a South African Pressing but I’m really struggling to find it online to find out more about it – value etc, although I’m not planning to sell. Can anyone please assist? I have found quite a few S.A. pressings on Discogs but not one that looks like this. These are the specs I can’t find on other pressings:
1. There is no red Parlophone Logo at top left of sleeve and no ‘mono’ or ‘stereo’ at top right.
2. My copy has Parlophone and EMI logos at the top right which I cannot find on other pressings
3. The spacing of all the content on the back of the sleeve is very ‘centred’ and not spread out toward the corners as with other pressings.
Details are
Cat # PMCJ 1202
Matrix XEX 421 on Side 1
Matrix XEX 422 on Side 2
Would love to find details about this exact copy online so any help would be appreciated.

Hi everyone,
I recently picked up a sealed copy of Anthology 3 from an independent Edinburgh record shop and it’s turned out to be a mispressing. At least I hope it is and it’s not a bootleg.
All LP’s are labelled correctly however the 3 LP’s are pressed in this order:
LP 1:
Side 1 – Plays side 1
Side 2 – Plays side 2
LP 2:
Side 3 – Plays Side 3
Side 4 – Plays side 5 (according to track listing)
LP 3:
Side 5 – Plays side 4 (according to track listing)
Side 6 – Plays side 6
Has anyone else encountered this? Do people think that this is a legit copy of the album? Finally, if it is legit, do you reckon it’s worth anything? I know these kind of things can sometimes make it a bit more valuable as it’s a quirk. The fact that it’s an anthology album and not an original LP leads me to believe it probably wont effect anything, but who knows.
Help is much appreciated,
Thanks!

I am wondering if anyone can help me with an odd one. I havr a Canadian pressing of Revolver (already different than the UK of course) but it was pressed with the same 5 songs on both side A and B. I have looked on line and can’t find any references to it….
Any info such as rarity and possible value would be appreciated!
Thanks!

Hi denlimack. It might be worth something to somebody, but as you may already know, there are a trillion copies of this Capitol record, so I bet there a quite a few mistakes out there. Obviously there are less Canadian copies than USA copies, but they are basically the same. If it were an original 1966 copy, it could be worth a little more.
That’s just my opinion…

appreciate it! I am having to clean out my aunt’s “valuables” as her executor and she listed this but I can’t find any info anywhere. She has a couple copies and this one is earlier (ST code as opposed to the later SW one she has). Also a few other cool albums like the Stones Some Girls with the original faces and a couple of other banned covers and the Sticky Fingers cover with the working Zipper (although neat its not exactly rare!).
Guess I will take the lot to a place like Kops records and see what theu say on value….
Thanks again!

I presume he means this; If so I have it on LP, my brother bought me the LP years ago for Christmas, is also in pristine condition and I am not looking to buy or sell.
Well, actually if you were to offer me a large suitcase stuffed full of £50 notes or to trade me with an original first edition of the Butcher ‘Yesterday and Today’ or some other massive Beatles rarity I would be willing to enter discussions.

Hello, new guy here. I joined basically because I am trying to find out some information about a mispress of the White Album I have. The matrix numbers seem to say it is a second run from the Jacksonville Illinois Capitol Records plant.
Anyway, LP 2…side 3 is as it should be…side 4 is labeled correctly for side four, however, it is in reality side 2 of LP 1.
Has anyone heard of this particular mispress before?

Has anyone ever seen this?
I have a copy of A Hard Day’s Night that I cannot find duplicated anywhere.
Firstly, it is listed here, but my copy has a difference that no one out there seems to either have noticed, or cared about.
I can’t imagine that I was the first to notice it in 55 years.
The copy I have is marked at UAL 3366 RR4M.
Here is the weird thing:
On side 1 the title is written without the apostrophe.
I have “A HARD DAYS NIGHT” instead of “A Hard Day’s Night “.
Side two is correct.
I have seen pictures out there of the same UAL 3366 RR4M label without the mistake.
So, am I crazy, or do I have something rare?
Any help would be great as I try and sell my father’s records.

5030 ‘RARE BEATLES – happy birthday’ / ‘Soldier of Love aka Happy Birthday’ :WRMB 345
J. Fish design, without a doubt.
Date of release: March 1974
SIDE A: Johnny B. Goode (Saturday Club # 280, recorded 7 January 1964)/ Shout (Around The Beatles, rec. 19 April 1964)/ Pop Go The Beatles/ You’ve Really Got A Hold On Me Pop Go The Beatles # 14, rec. 3 September ’63/ Memphis Tennessee (2:18)/ Happy Birthday , Saturday Club (0:30) (last 2 tracks: Saturday Club # 261, recorded 7 September 1963)/ This Boy / Twist And Shout / I Want To Hold Your Hand
“RARE BEATLES (also titled HAPPY BIRTHDAY on another insert), CBM TB5030, distributed in March 1974, four previously unreleased songs made their debut, unfortunately in poor quality and noticeably slow (among these, “Johnny B. Goode” can hardly be recognized!). This LP first appeared with blank labels, and had a few repressings on various other CBM labels.”
“Another handful of BBC songs, this time from “Saturday Club” (funny how BBC songs appeared in batches), were released on titles like RARE BEATLES and HAPPY BIRTHDAY. All poor quality, they included “Johnny B. Goode” (incomplete and with an annoying glitch of static), “Memphis” and “Happy Birthday Saturday Club”. “
