I’m surprised that people think that the man who slept with Ringo’s wife is nicer than Ringo himself. Seems to me that Ringo was by far the nicest and the other three were tied.
Ringo had plenty of affairs himself, as did all of the others. So, it’s not a particularly fair judgement. I think Paul only stopped having affairs once he married Linda. In my opinion, Paul/Linda was the only close to perfect relationship any Beatle ever had.
George and Ringo both had plenty. And John pretty much thought of himself as single for his whole life.

Yes, though my point was not necessarily that George had an affair but that he slept with the wife of one of his good friends. But then again it was the 60s! Still, though, I think Ringo seemed far more good natured than the rest of them.

Yeah, I see your point.

Ringo and Barbara seem pretty awesome. He was saying smoochy things about her as recently as his Stern interview, and I’ve always admired how they held out for a rehab center that would take them as a couple (most centers are gender-divided, apparently). And how Ringo immediately decided it was time for rehab when he hit rock-bottom, and awoke from a drunken stupor to find he’d hit his wife. To me that suggests a big difference between someone like Ringo and a real abuser; when he’d seen what he’d done, it was “Right, this can’t ever happen again. I’m willing to take on the misery of conquering this addiction.” And he did. She did, too. Mad props to both of them for that.

good music: My unshakeable love for all things McCartney knocks up against my unbridled joy of hearing Ringo sing and play the drums. Andddd…there’s a place in my heart that is reserved for John’s voice that nothing else can penetrate; his voice is so unique. Sorry, I haven’t found a special place yet for George, but I still have a lot of collecting to do. I only have his “All Things Must Pass “.
nicest: IDK
good looking:
always. And then…

why is paul so low in all of your “nice person” -rankings? he always seems very nice and gentle to me, never talking bad about others and very lovely with his children… is there something about him i have missed?
As much as I like Paul, and I like him very much, he seems to me to be the most contentious of all The Beatles. It always seems as if he is the one who has the biggest problem with someone: Sutcliffe, Pete Best, Epstein, Klein. Plus all that underhanded stuff of buying out shares behind John’s back; using his first solo album to announce the split of the band after keeping John from doing it for months. Again, overall, very nice guy but definitely the most self-centered out of all them, in my opinion, which is probably why after the split he seemed to keep mostly to himself and his family. George noted at the time of McCartney that Paul doesn’t have anyone else to bounce ideas and material off of other than Linda, unlike him and John. John seems to get more of a bad wrap for this sort of behaviour because he was more honest about it.

I’m sure in my own mind Paul ‘had’ Yoko……..but before John got Yoko’d-up so can’t hold it against him.
‘Let the grey grow out Paul!!’
Don’t think George was nicer than any of the others. ‘Nice’ can also mean a ‘fine distinction’…I’d say there wasn’t much between the four of them. In other words in terms of who was the nicest its a nice distinction.
Musically Paul wins, partly on there being ‘gems of melody’ in everything he’s done over a much longer career. He really is a national treasure.

I know I’m biased towards George, haha, but really with most of them they’re either tied or very close, especially the “nice” one. I’m sure Paul and Ringo are both lovely people, and they all had their b*****d moments. For me George wins it because I think it says something that so many people fell in love with him, and I feel like he’d be the most genuinely kind to the average person.
