Did you know that George recorded a Brazilian music? She was released on a single by Jim Capaldi, on August 13. The song name is Anna Julia (with a well-Beatle tune, by the way), George appears in the credits of the song !!! I know you are used to it, The Beatles were English, but I am very happy !!! Hope you enjoy!

Are The Beatles the only group where the group has broken up and the members have gone on to write songs about the group?
For reference, see this thread.
No, Tears for Fears traded musical barbs as well (they eventually reunited). Given that they’re huge Beatle fans, I suspect they saw themselves as living out a Lennon-McCartneyesque obligation.

Hi guys, have been reading the forum and am really impressed with the depth of knowledge of some of the posters on here.
Wondered if I could ask a couple of things related to Let It Be ; does anyone know where I can listen to my he Glyn Johns ‘Get Back ‘ album? Also, does anyone know if there’s anywhere you can obtain a copy of the Let It Be film? Thanks in advance.

@GuruDave
Depends on which Glyn John’s album you are looking for, there were four he compiled (at least), 3 of which were submitted for consideration but got vetoed. The Beatles Source has a ton of information and you can also find the songs to listen to.
Youtube is always a good place to search for albums including bootlegs.
Best place i can find to view the Let It Be film is here. You can buy it online if you want but not sure if thats what you are asking.
Any other questions feel free to ask and someone will reply. I’d also heartily recommend looking around Joe’s site and the forum its a great fun place to be and at times we even learn things.
By the way i’ve moved this to miscellaneous questions to keep things in check.

Thanks Mr Mustard. I assumed there would be bootlegs knocking around but unsure of which would be the definitive one. I’ll have a listen cheers. No problem buying the Let It Be film but I haven’t been able to find it for sale anywhere, maybe I’ve been looking in the wrong places.
Anyway thanks for your help, I’ve been a Beatles fan since I was a teen eager and am now in my early thirties. For some reason I have a particular fascination with the dynamics and complexities of the relationships between John Paul & George and also the reasons for the break up. Recently read ‘You Never Give Me Your Money ‘ which I found so engrossing. Cheers, Dave.

@Rita Eleanor, common to the UK. From wiki – “Zig-zag lines indicate to UK motorists that they are approaching a pedestrian crossing. It is an offence to stop a vehicle within the lines except when stopping for pedestrians using the crossing.”

Hi friends! It has happened that you are listening a solo song, and suddenly think of the unconscious that are the Beatles singing? For example: once I was listening to Jet and thought: “John and George are doing beautiful backing vocals” there after I wake up and remember that they are not there. Since I was also listening to Instant Karma and thought “Ringo is amazing in this song.” Of course, in the end, I remember that are not The Beatles. It happens to you too, or is that I’m crazy?

I don’t know if this question belong to this topic but I’ll ask anyway.Did anybody write to Paul or Ringo or maybe George or John for signature?
I’m thinking to write to Paul, beacuse Ringo doesn’t read his fan mail anymore.
Don’t write to Paul at home because they get dumped straight away I believe, same with writing to him at stadiums that he’s playing in- they just get sent back unsigned. Your best bet would be writing to MPL Communications and hoping for some reply!
Good luck.

Q: Why were John and Paul laughing during And Your Bird Can Sing ‘s recording (Take 2)? Just listening to Anthology 2 for the first time and find this version extremely funny…and lively. Paul is absolutely hysterical!

I think it may well have been something they had smoked.
As for U2, the Spice Girls and Oasis is it wrong to agree with George (quote below, taken from here), tho i do think U2 will be remembered?
George Harrison has labeled Oasis, the pretenders to The Beatles’ throne, egotistical “rubbish.” And he’s no fan of the Spice Girls either, claiming, “The good thing about them is that you can look at them with the sound turned down.” Harrison, 54, made his comments in an interview with French newspaper Le Figaro, to promote new album ‘Chants Of India’ by his pal Ravi Shankar. Asked whether he enjoys groups such as Oasis, U2 and Texas, Harrison snorts, “Rubbish! They aren’t very interesting. It’s OK if you’re 14 years old. I prefer to listen to Bob Dylan.” He adds, “You know what irritates me about modern music, it’s all based on ego. Look at a group like U2. Bono and his band are so egocentric… The more you jump around, the bigger your hat is, the more people listen to your music… The only important thing is to sell, and make money. It’s nothing to do with talent.” The Beatles, he claims “had a value which will last forever.” Harrison explains, “Today there are groups who sell a lot of records and then disappear immediately. Will we remember U2 in 30 years? Or the Spice Girls? I doubt it.” But he’s quick to admit he would be cashing in on the foxy fivesome’s success if he were a young man. Harrison says, “I would certainly produce the Spice Girls. If I knew at 20 what I know now, it would be fabulous. I would certainly retire before becoming famous.”
