Are there any authenticated/known photographs of the real Eleanor Rigby (1895-1939)? I can’t find any by Googling.

As a side note, there must be somebody who has done research into the Eleanor Rigby who is buried in Woolton. A quick search of the 1939 register suggests she was living at 4 High Street, Liverpool at the time of her death for instance.

Hello, longtime reader, first-time poster.
I read somewhere that 1996 was The Beatles’ best-selling year – the Anthology and knock-on effect of all the publicity meant that people bought mountains of their catalogue albums on CD – but I can’t remember where I read it. Can anyone help me verify?

Hello, this is my first time posting to this forum, and I wondered if you could answer a question for me. I frequently see “The End ” cited as the last song that all four Beatles worked on (such as on the Wikipedia page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/…..tles_song)). However, the history section of this website lists “I Want You (She’s So Heavy)” as the last song all four worked on (https://www.beatlesbible.com/1…..-so-heavy/). Does anyone know what the last song worked on by the Beatles was?

I’ve always wondered that, but I think it’s She’s so heavy. Many speculate the end due to it being… well… the end.
I don’t think it was the end though, and she’s so heavy was the ACTUAL end. There were other songs played by 3 or 2, maybe even one Beatle on Abbey Road , but She’s so heavy was the last one recorded by all four.
Also, Wikipedia is full of fake info. If you want real facts, you come to the Beatles Bible

It is actually a debatable answer, @Billy Shears (and welcome to the forum).
It depends on whether you consider start date or end date.
The Beatles started recording I Want You (She’s So Heavy) on 22 February 1969, with the last work on it being done on 20 August when two mixes were edited together and the cut-off ending applied.
The recording of The End began on 23 July 1969, and it was finished on the 18 August.
So, The End was the last song recorded by all four Beatles if the date they started the recording is the important one; I Want You (She’s So Heavy) was the last if when the final touches were done is how you define it.
I Want You (She’s So Heavy) was started earlier but finished later; The End was started later but finished earlier.
To my mind, the last song that all four played on was The End as that was the one that was the last one started, even if I Want You was finished off a couple of days after they’d completed The End .

You do have a point there, @Ron Nasty. But I was more thinking the last time the Beatles were together recording a song. So you could say the last song the Beatles started recording was The End , and the one they finished recording last was I want you.
It’s sort of a two-way answer there.

There was no recording done on the 20 August, @Magill, just editing; the last overdub on I Want You was done on 11 August (before the last overdub on The End ). The 20 August was just the last time all four were in the studio working on the running order and editing for Abbey Road .

The question came to mind after a round in the ‘Baker’s Dozen’ when ‘Any Time At All ‘ was quoted as being in ‘Doctor Robert ‘.
How many Beatles song titles are quotes completely in another Beatles song, be it a cover or not (but not in the same song as that would be numerous and quite obvious for many)?
A few tracks reference other songs like in ‘Glass Onion ‘ (‘Lady Madonna ‘ being one) and ‘Honey Don’t ‘ (‘I Feel Fine ‘) but alongside those what are the other ones? I would think ‘Yesterday ‘ is mentioned somewhere else, same as with ‘Something ‘.
Lady Madonna ‘, ‘Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds ‘, ‘Fixing A Hole ‘, ‘The Fool On The Hill ‘ – Glass Onion
‘Tell Me Why ‘ – ‘What Goes On ‘
‘I Feel Fine ‘ – ‘Honey Don’t ‘
‘Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da’ – ‘Savoy Truffle ‘
‘Honey Pie ‘ – ‘Wild Honey Pie ‘
‘Here Comes The Sun ‘ – ‘Sun King ‘
‘Yesterday ‘, ‘She Loves You ‘ – ‘All You Need Is Love ‘
‘Any Time At All ‘ – ‘Doctor Robert ‘
‘Because ‘ – ‘Happiness Is A Warm Gun ‘
‘You’ll Be Mine ‘ – ‘Things We Said Today ‘ (thanks @Richard)
‘Help ‘ goes very close with “I just need you”, “I’m feeling down” and “please please help me”.

I would imagine Help , Because , Girl, and I Will would also be mentioned somewhere else as well. I can add two to the list though:
“Wait ” – “Please Mister Postman “
“Money” – “Can’t Buy Me Love ”

The full title is ‘Money (That’s What I Want)’ so it falls by the side.

You know, there’s a lot of questions on the internet about the Beatles, so how about I answer some of the most common ones:
Q: Is Paul McCartney dead?
A: No, Paul is very much alive. How could anyone look and sound EXACTLY like him? Paul has remained alive ever since June 19th, 1942.
People said he died on November 9th, 1966, during the Sgt. Pepper sessions. On that day, Paul was actually on vacation, traveling through France and Kenya. More info can be here: https://www.beatlesbible.com/f…..l-is-dead/
Q: Who sang the “ahhs” on A Day In The Life
A: Richard Lush confirmed it was McCartney. While sounding a bit like John, it was our dear Macca all along. I always thought it was George though
2 questions is all I can do for now…

While Geoff Emerick maintained it was John… If answers to contentious and argued over questions were as easy “so-and-so” said, there would be no contentious and argued over questions. They become so because different players and participants offer differing memories that often don’t agree with others.
You cannot take a debate as complicated as the “ahhs” and dismiss all other opinions with “Richard Lush confirmed…”. Others who were there contradict him.
